So the Republican response to try and win back voters who fled them in their midterm wipeout is to make Stephen Miller WH COS and Jim Jordan their House leader? I’m not sure those are steps in the right direction.

Trump screamed at Susie Wiles and banished her from the Oval Office. As the door slammed, he was still yelling: The 72 hours that destroyed the president's beloved chief of staff... and her Camp David plot to deceive him trib.al/gLUCNpy

This is so wrong
The reason “Trump didn’t steal the elections” is because we & the pro-voter coalition stopped him EIGHT times over the past 21 months
Here’s how: a thread (1/x)

MS NOW: Democrat Scott Colom's lead in the Mississippi Senate race has now increased to 2,574 votes.

Dear Senator @cindyhydesmith, since no one else is telling you this, let me.
Put on your big girl panties, come out and concede this election to Senator-Elect @scott_colom. He needs to be able to participate in the New Senate Orientation and office selection that starts next week. The MS GOP needs to reassess their positions and prepare for 2027. This is a distraction.
If you are wondering why you lost:
1. You were an unpopular candidate during an extremely unpopular presidency. Senator Wicker showed that he was willing to push back against Trump, but I can’t recall a single time you ever did that.
2. Did you even campaign?
3. He outworked you up and down the state. Seriously, his signs were up and down 45, from the Alabama state line to 78.
4. Again, were you aware you were up for reelection? Because I’ve traveled the state extensively since July and I’ve seen maybe five signs for you.
5. You really tried let em eat cake in one of the poorest states. You didn’t even attempt to be relatable. The irony, of course, is that your family is in cattle farming. Such an unforced error.
6. Gas and grocery prices are up but wage growth hasn’t matched those increases.
7. Because at least 23 Americans have been lost in a war that no one wanted.
If you care about the State of Mississippi and this nation, it’s time to face reality. Concede. You’re gonna be fine.
Signed,
Non-Delusional Conservative

By him making Stephen Miller COS, millions of former Trump supporters who just voted against him, including lots of Hispanics and others disgusted by ICE overreach, feel extra validated they did the right thing. And millions of Trump supporters who just voted for him, regret it.

That’s … quite a misstatement.

CORRECTION: This post and opinion video states that Abdul El-Sayed gave his acceptance speech in Arabic. That’s not accurate. In fact, he said a few phrases in Arabic, but the majority of his speech was in English. The Free Press regrets the error.

I see a lot of people, out of anxiety and/or fear (whether they know it or not), saying Stephen Miller can’t be any worse than Susie Wiles because “she didn’t impose any guardrails.”
Do not fall into that trap of wishful thinking. It serves no one, especially you.
The change occurred for a reason. It wasn’t in our favor.
Almost certainly, people are about to discover just how much Susie Wiles DID keep a lid on things.
Confront reality. Stay out of wishful thinking.
It always works out better when you do.
You can’t be as resilient without it.

I agree! It seems that the collapse of the Netanyahu regime which is likely to be over by Wednesday combined with the massive GOP mid-term election wipeout in Congress are causing cooler heads to prevail.
Trump's advisors including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe are reportedly siding with Vice President JD Vance in urging him against new strikes and recommending he maintain the blockade while continuing to pressure Iran to return to the negotiation table. Only Netanyahu and Hegseth are urging Trump to escalate his war on Iran with Vance urging him to declare victory and end it.
The feeling is that the American people have spoken with the resounding defeat of the GOP over the Iran War and that Trump should respect their will. In addition, Trump's advisors believe that nothing would be accomplished by striking Pickaxe Mountain which is not even operational yet and is impervious to conventional air strikes and that Trump has already succeeded in destroying Iran's nuclear program.
Also, as a side note, the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt will not reach the Arabian Sea until late November so the US will not have three aircraft carriers to use for strikes on Iran for another two weeks giving Trump more time to make a final decision.
As I told @MarioNawfal earlier this week, I am optimistic about the president pulling back. Got a note last night that made me worry. But, I am again optimistic. I do not think there will be military action. I really do think the Democrat victory and the collapse of Netanyahu in Israel convinced Trump to change tactics. Why? Because he hates losers. And even he acknowledged that the Iran War was the reason he lost. And Netanyahu pushed him into it and now Netanyahu is being given the boot.
My take. I agree with @Kalshi Odds are far greater that Trump reverses course. Plus, the military has relayed to him there are no serious military options here.

Laura Ingraham just switched back to the America First conservative side after spending the last eight months on the fence. Her courageous opening tonight shows she is no longer willing to defend Trump's no-win Deep State forever war in the Middle East.
🚨 Laura Ingraham, live on Fox News, says it's BEYOND time to wrap up the Iran operation -- and TORCHES those telling Trump to continue
"94 PERCENT of midterm voters said the Iran war was a MAJOR factor for them. That's just a fact. It's NOT an opinion."
"Let's never lose sight of the fact that we're up against fanatics. The notion that we're going to change the regime's mind when with a few bombing runs is DELUSIONAL."
"The longer we're bogged down, the WEAKER we become, hurting our munitions stockpiles and further eroding public support."
"Anyone who's telling the President otherwise.. is either FOOLISH or LYING or has other ULTERIOR MOTIVES." — @IngrahamAngle

ALERT! MTG confirms: Susie Wiles is being moved into a position where she and Trump will attempt to dictate the 2028 GOP candidate so they can do deals with that candidate (to protect Trump and his family), and THIS WILL NOT FLY with the voters.
Which means unless Trump is removed soon, the Dems will achieve another historic blue wave victory in 2028, and from there America is a one-party blue state country, and the GOP is history. (Probably the most likely outcome at this point.)
So Trump is going to burn the GOP to the ground, in other words. And Susie Wiles is going to hand him the gasoline to do it.

It now appears likely that given the trajectory of the late votes coming in, Scott Colom will finish more than 0.5% ahead of Cindy Hyde-Smith. MS has no automatic recount trigger, meaning Hyde-Smith would have to pay for it herself, but it’s looking less likely that she will.
This is the biggest win of the 2026 midterms, bar none. A Black Democrat getting elected in Mississippi is Earth shattering.

Trump is shellshocked. He thought he could interfere with results by either confiscating voting machines, or some other ways to stop the winning counts after the election, if it was close. The blue earthquake was so gigantic, that he is now disoriented, contemplating resigning.

History will judge you. And it will not go well.
Today is my last day as White House Chief of Staff.
Serving President Trump in the White House has been the honor of a lifetime. I’m so proud to have been a part of what we’ve accomplished together from securing our border and cutting taxes to strengthening our economy and putting America First.
More than anything, I’m grateful for the extraordinary people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside. While my role may be changing, my commitment to the President and the mission never will.
