I've learned that Dr. Jim Hilyer, the first head coach of UAB football, has passed away at 86.
He led the Blazers from a club-level team to DIII and FCS and had a record of 28-12-1.
He was also a presence during the Return.

So today, I graduated from The Point but man if it taught me anything it's that four years flies. Even in a time where I reached my lowest of emotional lows, it flew by. Value relationships and cherish each day. Peace, Love, and Soul! ✌️🏿

UPDATE: Whatever the outcome is, I am pleased to have brought awareness to the @NFL on the process that Service Academy & Military College athletes must go through to make their dreams come true. I’m extremely grateful for the NFL allowing me to speak with them! #DreamChasers ✍🏾

Today is my last day with the Sun Herald.
I’m emotional waking up this morning. I love this place, the people, this job and my coworkers.
I’ve grown so much in the last two years. I couldn’t be more thankful for my time on the Coast.
Sharing some of my favorite 📸s today:

Adia Barnes on a morning press conference and is asked about the TV clip showing her animated postgame speech to her team:
"I’m not apologizing for it because I don't feel that I need to apologize… I wouldn’t take it back."

Gary,
😂I was so pumped up it was the heat of the moment and it was supposed to be a private moment with my team! I told them WE BELIEVED IN US!FORGET🤪EVERYONE THAT DIDN’T, I WILL GO TO WAR WITH U ANYTIME ANY PLACE!! Not the best look but I was loving on my team. 😊
Shame on anybody who tries to make Adia Barnes apologize for telling the skeptics to F themselves. That’s a great moment. xitter.gq/RespectDaBeard1/status…

Loyola was a legitimate top 10 team prior to the tourney and got massive disrespect from the committee. The same way the G5 champs do in CFB. The only difference is in hoops they get a chance to prove it on the court. #FreeTheG5
