Worked to secure $1.37 million for State Route 58!
SR 58 is the only year-round, all-weather trans-Sierra route, connecting the Central Valley to national markets and carrying the goods that keep our economy moving.
It's a critical step in getting SR 58 the investment it deserves, and I am happy to have delivered it to Kern County.

This investment that I secured through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act will bolster water infrastructure for 1 million+ acres of farmland and hundreds of thousands of residents across our community.
I’m proud to have delivered this generational investment in our water infrastructure.
This morning, my team had the honor of welcoming Kern County Honor Flight #55 to the U.S. Capitol and taking them onto the House floor.
Our community and nation are eternally grateful for these veterans. We are able to enjoy our freedom because of the sacrifices of these American heroes.

The plot to massacre innocent Americans at a Hindu temple in Illinois is evil. Plain and simple.
The freedom to worship without fear is a fundamental American right, and religious violence has no place in our nation.
I am grateful to law enforcement for preventing an unthinkable tragedy. I stand firmly with Hindu Americans in our community and across our country in defending their right to worship safely and freely.
🚨 BREAKING: Authorities have reportedly foiled a potential mass shooting at a Hindu temple in the greater Chicago area.
A 19-year-old white supremacist was reportedly found possessing an AR-style rifle and 300 rounds of ammunition, allegedly planning to kill as many people as possible.
This disturbing plot comes as Hindus gather in large numbers to celebrate Navratri, and just two weeks after an attack on a Hindu temple in Ohio.
Hindu temples and all houses of worship must be sanctuaries of peace, prayer, and solace — NEVER targets of hate, violence, or terror.
We thank law enforcement for their swift action in averting what could have been an unspeakable tragedy.
We urge elected officials and law enforcement agencies to take the growing threats against Hindu places of worship seriously, strengthen protections, and unequivocally condemn Hinduphobia.
We also call on temples and community organizations to review their security measures, remain vigilant, and promptly report suspicious activity.
The freedom to worship without fear is a fundamental American right. It must be protected.

California should be where the American Dream begins, not where it ends.
Prop 40 is being sold as a tax on billionaires. In reality, it would cost jobs, encourage businesses and entrepreneurs to leave, and undermine the innovation that powers our economy — all while making California’s chronic budget problems worse.
Another tax won’t fix our states mismanagement. It will only drive opportunity away.

A recent ruling just struck down California’s fracking ban as an illegal overreach.
Up to 1 billion barrels of oil sit untapped in Kern County as Gavin Newsom has declared war on California energy producers. The result is Californians paying $2 more per gallon than the national average.
When we produce energy here at home, costs come down across the board.
We must continue looking for ways to bolster our energy supply instead of shutting it down.

These American heroes are a powerful reminder that our freedoms are not free. Their sacrifices and courage made everything possible, and our community and nation is eternally grateful.

Too many patients suffering from mold and other serious fungal diseases struggle to get an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.
HHS is taking action. We are closing gaps in surveillance, improving diagnosis, advancing new treatments, and equipping doctors to identify these diseases earlier.
Earlier detection can save lives. We are making sure patients and their doctors have the science and tools to act.

This week we announced a new VA facility is coming to Bakersfield, California in December. Our Veterans deserve the best care and that’s what they’ll get with this new, modernized VA outpatient clinic.
After 17 years, the new modernized Bakersfield VA Clinic is finally moving forward.
This is a facility worthy of their service and I am beyond proud to have helped deliver this with @SecVetAffairs.
Our veterans have waited long enough. This is the care they have earned and deserve. 🇺🇸
