70 years ago today the world's first submarine nuclear reactor reached full power, two weeks prior to USS Nautilus (SSN 571) getting "Underway on Nuclear Power".

Today marks my last day as a member of the House of Representatives. I am immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to serve Central New York and the Mohawk Valley in this role. I believe the country is on a better trajectory today than it was just two years ago. Public service is an honorable pursuit when guided by desire to do right by our community and our country. What moved me to run for Congress is precisely what moved me to join the Navy in 1990. Stephanie and I are excited for the challenges and opportunities on the horizon, and we remain grateful to everybody who trusted us over the past two years. Our country is in a pivotal moment, and my prayers and support are with President-elect Trump, Speaker Johnson, and all those seeking to make our country more prosperous and secure.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” -Isaiah 9:6 Merry Christmas!

This announcement is great news for CNY, and for American security. Micron will have a crucial role in onshoring critical parts of our tech supply chain and growing America’s share of advanced memory manufacturing over the next decade. Congratulations to all involved!

The prosperity of American citizens for the next century depends on how well we address these issues right now. Whoever wins the next ten years will dominate the next hundred. Leadership is required. Failure is not an option.

Our future at stake, America must dominate energy production, strengthen critical mineral supply chains, and lead the global race for AI. We must align our economy, national defense strategy, and diplomacy to this end.

3) Artificial Intelligence leadership today is the equivalent of the Manhattan Project in WWII. Winning is not optional. AI depends on cutting-edge chips -> which require critical minerals. Additionally, AI requires -> abundant energy that is reliable, affordable, and resilient.

2) We must secure our supply of Critical Minerals, including gallium, germanium, antimony, indium, uranium, lithium, cobalt, and others. Each is essential for a modern economy and crucial for defense-tech and AI leadership.

Our allies, and all peaceful nations, prefer the United States as their source for nuclear technology and fuel. Relationships sharing nuclear energy last for a century and determine whether the world relies upon America and the West, or China and Russia, for clean energy.

Abundant natural gas production strengthens our economy and secures our relationships with our friends. Peaceful nuclear power, similarly, is our “SWORD.” America must lead the world in nuclear energy technology, innovation, and fuel production.

1) America must have abundant and secure energy sources. Domestic natural gas is our “SHIELD” to protect national security and prosperity. Natural gas is critical to keep the lights on, our homes warm, and American industry (and jobs) humming.

America must dominate Energy + Critical Minerals + Artificial Intelligence to remain the global leader for another century. At the mercy of others, we hand over the 21st century to China and Russia. This is unacceptable. Let’s dive in on all three.

China has declared economic war on America, cutting off access to critical minerals (Ga, Ge, & Sb) essential for tech and defense industries. Dependence on China and Russia for critical minerals leaves us vulnerable to our global competitors. 1/🧵

As a political outsider, I am not surprised by the President’s actions to pardon Hunter. I never believed his promises not to pardon his son. Remember, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Any study of history would tell you Biden’s action was inevitable.

Increasing U.S. enrichment capacity is an energy security issue and a national security issue.
3x nuclear energy in the U.S. by 2050? ↗️ That equals 10x U.S. enrichment capacity! 👀 To achieve this required domestic enrichment output, we need all suppliers running full bore—it's not an either/or. Our Project Ike enrichment facility planned for Oak Ridge, TN, is designed as a major source for reliable, diversified, domestic capacity. #ProjectIkeEnrichment #uranium

This Veterans Day, take some time to remember and honor those who have worn the uniform of our great nation. We are grateful for both their dedication and their sacrifice in defense of our freedoms.

Stephanie and I are walking confidently forward—thankful that our country is on a much better trajectory today than two years ago when we first stepped into public office. We are grateful beyond words at having had the singular honor of serving our community and serving our country in the House of Representatives. We will continue in some capacity to be a part of the restoration of America that has just begun! Lots of good things ahead, we are walking by faith and not by sight.

Last night, I visited ITC High School to talk about the Children Rising Center, which is committed to serving families with accessible learning, recreation, and health services. I worked with Syracuse officials to secure $3 million in federal funding for this important project.
