Delaware's Congresswoman. This is her government X account.

Some days in this job are particularly awe-inspiring — like today, when I joined my colleagues at Independence Hall in Philadelphia to celebrate that on this day 250 years ago our predecessors in the Continental Congress voted that our colonies were free and independent states. Two days later, they would adopt a declaration that would proclaim certain self evident truths. We still have a long way to go before our nation fully realizes the values and rights articulated in the Declaration of Independence — that all of us are created equal. I'm grateful for the opportunity to do my small part in that work each day that I serve Delaware in Congress.

The IDF detained Brad Lander and several other Americans this morning for assisting Palestinian farmers in harvesting olives — a shameful action by the Israeli government that I wholeheartedly condemn. The remaining detainees must be immediately released. The Israeli government’s actions in the West Bank have increasingly violated international law, while its continued expansion of illegal settlements and failure to stop settler violence have led to the needless loss of life and undermined prospects for lasting peace. The Israeli government must put an end to settlement expansion, hold violent settlers accountable, and respect the rights and dignity of Palestinians living in both the West Bank and Gaza. The Israeli government must understand that their actions have consequences — and US political leaders must be willing to do more to reinforce that.

I visited Dover Pools, a family-owned, leading pool company in Central Delaware that recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. It was wonderful to speak with the company’s leadership about their successful experience operating a small business in our state for decades. Small businesses are the foundation of our state’s economy and communities. As costs rise, we must continue providing entrepreneurs with the resources they need to grow.

It was an honor to join for the 25th anniversary celebration of Sacred Heart Village I, the Ministry of Caring’s affordable senior housing community in Wilmington. For years, The Ministry of Caring and Sacred Heart Village I have served the needs of seniors with dignity, and I’m grateful to have them as partners in our shared mission to sustain affordable housing in Delaware. Seniors built our state, and they deserve to age with security. We will keep working to ensure no one grows old in fear.

Late Friday, my office was notified that a suspicious letter, similar to those containing an unknown substance received by other congressional offices, was en route to my Wilmington office. Thanks to the proactive efforts of the Wilmington Police Department and U.S. Capitol Police, my staff is safe. These scare tactics will not intimidate us or stop our work on behalf of Delawareans. My office remains open and ready to assist our neighbors.

This blatant cozying up to Putin proves yet again that Trump is more than willing to throw Americans and our allies under the bus if it means appeasing his friend.

October is National Retirement Security Month! So, I joined with my friend @TreasurerDavis for some helpful tips on how to plan for retirement. It is never too late to start saving for your future, your way.

I visited the Freeman Arts Pavilion, a newly completed venue that will bring educational arts experiences and world-class performances to Sussex County and surrounding regions. It was great to hear from the Freeman Arts leadership team about their efforts to continue expanding access to arts and cultural programming across our communities, and I’m looking forward to seeing their growth.

I joined @JohnCarneyDE alongside other state and local leaders to celebrate the new, affordable 0% mortgage homes Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County (HFHNCC) are constructing in Wilmington. For 40 years, HFHNCC has helped Delawareans build a sustainable pathway to homeownership, and I’m grateful for their dedication to placing our neighbors in safe homes.

Trump cares more about sending his weaponized DOJ after a duly elected member of Congress than he does fixing the issues plaguing his administration. Rep. Omar is a committed public servant — and I stand with her against this atrocious abuse of power by the president.

This Indigenous Peoples' Day, we honor and recognize the Lenape and Nanticoke peoples, whose ancestral lands include Delaware, and whose resilience and contributions have long enriched our state. For them, and Indigenous communities across the country, we celebrate the enduring legacy and traditions that preceded our nation's founding today and every day.

It was exciting to celebrate the construction of the University of Delaware’s new Securing American Biomanufacturing Research and Education (SABRE) Center alongside Dr. Kelvin Lee, a leader in our state's biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. I am proud to have helped secure more than a million dollars in federal funding for the SABRE Center and it was my honor to sign a beam that will support this new state-of-the-art facility, which will move life-saving medical technologies beyond the lab into production and provide hands-on workforce training to students.

Today marks three years since the horrors of October 7th, the largest attack on Jews since the Holocaust, took the lives of over a thousand people. In Delaware and across the country, the weight of October 7th is felt deeply, particularly in the hearts and lives of our Jewish neighbors. In the years since, rising antisemitism has further sown fear in Jewish communities across the First State. May we remember the lives taken and families shattered three years ago today. And recommit ourselves, every day, to a world that affirms the dignity of Israelis and Palestinians alike.

My constituents — including many active duty service members, veterans, and their families — are not acceptable collateral damage in Trump’s stupid war.
Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

This is an asinine comment for anyone to make. But from the...President of the United States? Absolutely outrageous. Trump continues to prove that he does not care about the safety of you, your neighbors, or our nation — so long as it helps him justify his illegal, costly, and deadly war.

I was in Dewey Beach this week with @ChrisCoons and other state and local leaders to inspect damage from the recent nor’easter. While the damage is significant, severe impacts were luckily averted thanks to investments from our federal delegation into beach erosion prevention measures. We will continue to fight for more investments to address the damage and protect our coastal communities.

Trump is pouring your tax dollars into ads that blast lies and self-promotion across our screens and the country. All to district from the fact that his policies are failing the American people and driving up costs every single day.
