i have one Harry Potter theory that makes the books and movies feel a lot more connected.
i think the films deliberately make Dumbledore seem more mysterious because the books gradually reveal that he has been shaping Harry’s path from the beginning,he knows Harry will eventually have to face Voldemort, withholds crucial information until Harry is ready and even allows Harry to believe that his death is inevitable.
the movies simplify some of this, but the pattern is still there Dumbledore isn’t merely preparing Harry to defeat Voldemort,he’s preparing him to understand why he may have to die first.
and that makes the “King’s Cross” conversation hit differently,Harry surviving wasn’t Dumbledore’s plan failing it was the consequence of Voldemort using Harry’s blood, while Harry willingly sacrificing himself had already destroyed the piece of Voldemort inside him Dumbledore understood the path, but even he couldn’t completely control its ending.

The Avengers probably could’ve beaten Thanos on Titan if Peter Quill hadn’t attacked him. But if Doctor Strange knew that was going to happen, why did he let Quill get close enough to ruin everything?

How dangerous is Sinestro actually supposed to be if the Guardians are willing to replace Hal because of his connection to him? We might be watching the beginning of Sinestro becoming the real threat.

People underestimate what makes the Infinity War fight so memorable. Steve wasn’t remotely matching Thanos physically, and the movie never suggests he was. Thanos had the Power Stone alone, not to mention several other Stones, and could have overwhelmed Steve almost instantly.
What catches Thanos off guard is that Steve keeps pushing forward when every logical reason tells him to stop. He’s exhausted, injured, surrounded by a losing battle, and standing in front of an enemy who has already beaten the Hulk. Yet Steve still grabs Thanos’ arm and tries to hold him back. For someone like Thanos, who believes overwhelming power eventually makes everyone submit, Steve’s refusal to surrender is almost alien.
Thanos wasn’t impressed by Steve’s strength. He was momentarily confronted with something his Infinity Stones couldn’t measure: absolute refusal to give up.

Why did the movies make Hermione seem like she was always the smartest person in the room when the books gave Ron several moments where he understood things Harry and Hermione didn’t?

Did Helaena throw herself out of the same window that Tommen did, or do all the Red Keep windows look the same

Jaehaerys passing the crown to Rhaenys would have averted the Dance entirely. With Corlys Velaryon’s naval supremacy and Baratheon blood on her side, she possessed the political steel and military leverage Viserys completely lacked.
Cutting Otto Hightower out before he could entrench his family in the Red Keep kills the Green faction in the cradle. Rhaenys understood the brutal realities of power, meaning Westeros gets a stable, pragmatically ruled realm instead of a dragon-fueled civil war.
