Our sponsored bill, SB 1003 @TimGraysonCA, just passed out of Assembly Local Government! This bill would create Pro-Housing Enhanced Infrastructure Financing Districts — giving cities a powerful new tool to fund the infrastructure needed to build more homes!

California's housing industry is united: pass AB 736. It caps harmful transfer taxes, protects city revenues, and keeps a worse Jarvis measure off the November ballot. Contact your legislators now! actionnetwork.org/letters/pa…

SB 79 is now the law of the land, but our work isnt's done! Now, we have to make sure every city implements SB 79 to the fullest extent so we can build more homes near transit. On Tuesday 2/24, the CIty of LA PLUM committee will be considering LA's first SB 79 ordinance, and we need YOUR help to advocate for more homes. Check the link in our bio to email your councilmember, to RSVP for tomorrow's hearing, and for talking points to help you!

It was an honor to spend two years working on and advocating for passage of this legislation with Professor Elmendorf and Assemblymember @PhilTing. It was definitely a heavy lift but we got it done. @SPUR_Urbanist
Replying to @CSElmendorf
Disclosure: AB 1633 was spurred by one of my papers (w/ the great @TDuncheon) and I provided pro-bono advice to the bill's author, @PhilTing. xitter.cf/CSElmendorf/status/171… /end

You can bet your life that I’m voting YES!!! My only request for you is that you look at and weigh the importance of the difference California can make in whether OUR government in Washington works for us or not. Vote your conscience. Vote on November 4!!!

I've spent the last 8 months of my life working to pass #SB79. It will be transformative for housing in California, and is one of the best things I'll probably ever get to do. As of this morning, it's officially law; now it's time to drink!

CORRECTING THE RECORD ON SB 79. @MayorOfLA Bass sent a letter to @CAgovernor Newsom asking him to veto SB79. It's got inaccuracies and misinterpretations, so we sent a letter to going through them. See our latest blog post for a full breakdown. abundanthousingla.org/correc…

A bill released in the final days of the legislative session creates a carve-out from more permissive building rules and appears to target just one project: a proposed apartment building in Sen. @MoniqueLimonCA's district. cal.news/41KfePq 📝 @frombenc

Why is the rent so damn high in LA? Simple economics: the demand for housing is extremely high and our housing supply is extremely low.

College Lied to Us The American Dream got expensive, and it stopped working 2025 has made one thing painfully clear: College isn’t the answer for most people anymore. 📉 Student loan debt just hit $2 trillion. 📈 42% of recent grads are working jobs that don’t require a degree. 🧾 And trades like HVAC, CDL, and Dental Assisting are now out-earning college grads in the first 3 years. Meanwhile, colleges are increasing tuition… again. Even as 4-year universities report a 17% drop in enrollment since 2020. People are waking up. They want skills, not theory. A job, not a degree. Freedom, not debt. But here’s the catch: There aren’t enough credible trade schools stepping up. You don’t need a PhD to change lives. Just a plan, some courage, and a mission. RT and share if you want to see more trade schools. @mikeroweworks @_rogerwakefield @Codie_Sanchez
