Could be that American politics for the rest of our lives will be parties switching power, engaging in ever more flagrant corruption and grifting, then prosecuting the other side for crimes and non-crimes, in just a never ending cycle - all while the intelligent people we want to steer politics are so bored with the Jerry Springer quality of things that they just check out.

Again, legacy media might say that non-citizen voting is extremely rare, and it might be! But the largest state in the country is happily admitting that they have absolutely no way of knowing how widespread it is, and frankly, they don't care even a little
Stunning admission by California during yesterday’s Ninth Circuit hearing.
California admitted they do nothing to check the citizenship status of voters and will count the illegal ballots of noncitizens who vote. This is why we’re seeking an emergency order. We cannot allow California to dilute legal votes in the upcoming election.
Judge: You agree that if a non-citizen votes and we don’t stop it now, that vote will be counted, correct?
California: That’s absolutely correct.

One of the problems that blue cities are going to face as the DSA takes over is that their new mayors are going to be unimaginably dumb people who literally have no idea how things work or function
Not a great sign for the future of LA!
Holy shit...this clip is unreal. Nithya Raman has absolutely NO clue about how housing works in LA. Oppenheim explains to her that landlords are losing money over the last decade and she's got ZERO idea what he's saying. This lady was chair of the Homelessness and Housing Committee for years and she's genuinely hearing this for the first time in her life. Unreal that this low IQ buffoon is about to be the Mayor. WTF are we doing.

The conspirators @DataRepublican & @CynicalPublius & the other intrepid & brave researchers exposed plotting a Color Revolution here in America misunderstand the most critical point of all; those people think that because they successfully carried a coup in 2020, that they can do so again in a much, much changed America.
They lack the necessary discernment & context to understand that they are starting something horrific…that they think they can control— they absolutely cannot control what they are trying to bring forth.
I urge the conspirators to reconsider, because opening that box will start something there is no stopping & the potential for it to become a nightmare for everyone is 100%.
Stop, before it’s too late.

For my American oomfs this is like California having a state-wide election and the Republican Party winning
#BREAKING: B.C. Conservatives win majority government. Live real-time election updates here. ctvnews.ca/vancouver/article…
The USAID money stolen from taxpayers to fund leftwing elections all over the world, has disappeared.
And suddenly, leftwing parties all over the world are losing elections in historical fashion.
What a coincidence.

"So if your entire plan is built around what happens after the Insurrection Act is invoked, you are building a plan around mass violence happening"
Exactly.
I've been going through the Democracy Files leaks @DataRepublican has been releasing, and whether or not any of this ultimately meets the legal bar for seditious conspiracy. The plan these organizers are discussing doesn't hold together unless you assume their "non-violence" language is masking their true intentions from public consumption.
Their red line is the Insurrection Act as a potential triggering action, there may be others, but all of the potential triggering acts that have been hinted at are lawful actions. Nobody invokes the Insurrection Act over people walking down the street with signs. It doesn't happen. The Guard deployments in LA and Portland last year to counteract violent protestors weren't even the Insurrection Act. The only scenario where it actually gets invoked is one where there is sustained violence that local authorities can't or won't control.
So if your entire plan is built around what happens after the Insurrection Act is invoked, you are building a plan around mass violence happening. You can say "non-violence" as many times as you want. The plan doesn't work without the violence. That's a wink and a nod tactic to cya legally.
But understand the logic flow of what comes next. In the transcripts published by The Post Millennial and WECU, the talk is about governors becoming "the leading governing authority," about how to "wall off these illegitimate individuals," and about moving "into an extra-constitutional process." In other words, the federal response has been labeled illegitimate before anything has even happened.
That's where this starts to matter legally. The seditious conspiracy statute covers conspiring to oppose by force the authority of the United States, or to prevent, hinder or delay by force the execution of any law. The Supreme Court said back in 1887 that if federal officers carrying out the law are forcibly opposed by people who conspired for that purpose, that is exactly what the statute was written for.
If violence breaks out, and the federal government steps in to protect communities, and these same organizers then use ongoing violent protests to tell governors and the public that the federal government is no longer legitimate, that bleeds out of activism and into something far more serious.
Advocating an idea isn't a crime necessarily and the courts have been clear about that. But there is a big difference between teaching an abstract idea and lining up the lawyers, the bail money and the governing plan for the day after.
Maria Stephan, who co-leads the Horizons Project, the group that co-wrote the toolkit for these organizers, wrote in 2020 that calling the George Floyd protests violent riots "is simply untrue" and that the looting and vandalism were "a minute portion" of it, "largely committed by opportunists." Erica Chenoweth, whose 3.5% rule keeps coming up in these circles, co-wrote that claims the protests were overtaken by rioting "are false." Paul Zeitz wrote last year that troops had been "deployed against peaceful protestors" in LA. So they are obviously hiding behind legalese to cover their tracks while having a background of defining violent protests as non-violent.
All of this tells you exactly how they'll describe the violence when it comes. “It isn't really violence, it's a tiny percentage, it's opportunists, and the real threat is the federal response.”
They're being evasive and misleading, intentionally.
The question now is what the full archive shows. If anyone on these calls is planning to physically resist federal law enforcement once it shows up, or keeps backing these movements after they've clearly turned violent, that's not politics anymore. And it’s worth repeating this last point. If the organizers of this say “peaceful protest” now, but advocate for advancing their plan to delegitimize the authority of the United States government after violent protests break out, they will be exposed to more obvious legal scrutiny.

People are using Claude Code and Codex to strip the spyware out of their smart TVs, and it's beautiful.
Jake Stevens removed all of Samsung's tracking from his TV with Codex.
His list of what he switched off reads like a confession the TV makers never meant to give: screenshots of your screen a few times a second to fingerprint what you're streaming, reading your HDMI inputs to do the same thing while you have a game console plugged in, and Bixby wake-word detectors.
He says the TV runs three times faster with the junk gone.
The tracking at the center of this is called automatic content recognition, or ACR. Texas AG Ken Paxton sued Sony, Samsung, LG, Hisense and TCL last December, alleging the software can capture screenshots of your TV display every 500 milliseconds and transmit that data back without your knowledge or consent. The companies then sell it to target ads.
A 2024 study found ACR works even when the smart TV is used as a dumb external display, meaning the game console or laptop you plug in over HDMI gets tracked too. You paid for a screen, and they shipped you a sensor that reports what you watch in your own living room.
Now AI is handing regular people the tools to rip it out. Own your stuff, verify it yourself, and don't trust anyone who profits from watching you.

Bukele raiding Haiti is a lot like what Jefferson did in the Barbary Wars: raiding a lawless pirate state to rescue its own citizens.

Well, if he does, then he can. The Haitian government is not exactly in any position to stop him. Just like they’re not in any position to stop a cannibal gang leader named Barbecue.

The New York Times’ position is basically, “yes we may have said ‘no one is above the law’ before, but obviously of course some people are above the law if they agree with our political ideology, and any efforts to hold anyone with our ideology accountable is a heckin fascism”
