🙋 How does Exocore manage cross-chain communication? It's called a one-way state peg. Here's how it works ⤵️ Events that occur on supported L1 chains are forwarded to Exocore via LayerZero so that Exocore’s accounting system can record them. For example, let’s say an Exocore user restakes with an operator on Ethereum. The transaction data is forwarded to Exocore which calls a precompile contract that's built into the Exocore protocol. This validates the transaction and updates the state data Exocore's accounting system. Finally, a message is sent back to Ethereum, signaling that the action is complete. So, instead of relying on complicated smart contacts for restaking logic, Exocore handles all restaking operations at the protocol level. Only simple gateway contracts exist on supported L1 chains to facilitate cross-chain communication and maintain a one-way state peg. Tokens are never bridged; they remain on their native chain.
