Full HUGE* If True episode on Neuralink and the future of brain computer interfaces I toured @neuralink and got a close up view of their new R1 surgical robot, to see the future they and @elonmusk are building and how it is already changing lives... 00:00 What if you put a chip in your brain? 01:02 What does a human brain feel like? 02:17 How does your brain work? 03:58 Can a brain computer interface read your thoughts? 05:19 How do you get a chip into your brain? 08:07 What’s inside Neuralink’s implant? 10:06 How do you build a brain implant? 11:07 How does robot do brain surgery? 12:20 What could you do with a brain chip? 15:05 How are brain computer interfaces already being used today? 16:07 How are brain chips huge if true?

Under the Hood now shows you which posts received a visibility-limiting label, making it easier to see what’s affected: xitter.gq/i/jf/under_the_hood This was a top request — thanks for the feedback. You’ll see the specific posts listed when fewer than 5% of your posts during the report period have that label.

THIS WILL BE INCREDIBLE TO SEE!!! Flight 15 could feature the first DOUBLE CATCH! That's right! Both ship and booster could be caught. This obviously means it'd be an orbital mission again too, so this will easily be the most exciting mission to date! I can't wait!!!

Perseverance has set a new off-world record! 🏅 On Oct. 11, the rover's odometer hit 28.10 miles (45.22 kilometers), eclipsing the distance record set by NASA's Opportunity rover. 1/2

The first Starship to return to its launch site, Ship 40's journey took it across air, space, and sea. Now that it is vertical alongside three other Starships in a Megabay at Starbase, it will provide first-of-its-kind data on a flown Starship heatshield, Raptor engines, avionics, and more.

Amazing photos and a nice breakdown from Asher regarding what you’re seeing in these images. Still so disappointed I missed this one!
If you’re curious about what everything in this photo is, here’s a quick breakdown. Still not over this morning, such a memorable launch!

To test what LunCoSim can actually do, we’re building @astrobotic Griffin-1 mission to the Moon as a working simulation. Griffin is the lander, and Astrolab’s FLIP rover rides on it. This is part of our work with @OfficialMoonDAO lunar base infrastructure. It’s not a render. The lander and rover are connected the way they are in reality. FLIP’s power and thermal systems are real models attached to the vehicle, so when the rover drives, power draw and temperatures change as a consequence, not as a scripted animation. The mission sequence is code you can read and edit. Change a waypoint, rerun it, see what breaks. The part we keep coming back to is provenance. Public Griffin and FLIP numbers are recorded with sources. Everything not yet public is clearly marked as a placeholder. That matters. A sim you can’t trace is just a video. A sim that tracks where every number came from is something you can actually argue with. LunCoSim is still alpha and open source. We’re building in the open, and yes, we’re still tuning our own processes. If you’re working on lunar or planetary missions, we’d love your eyes on it. We’ll be at a side event at @IAC2026Antalya in Belek on Oct 7, 18:30, showing the Griffin-1 model and gathering feedback. Bring a laptop if you want to drive the rover yourself.

Throwback to the time they stuck a IMAX camera on a satellite the shuttle was deploying and got some of the best in space footage ever taken. God I hope NASA takes some IMAX cameras to the moon on Artemis 4, it would be so dope.

Hot staging is one of the most incredible things to witness during these launches. This is the best shot I've captured of that moment- during flight 5. Flight 14 is as soon as Monday. The first operational orbital flight of Starship. It's been quite a long road to get here.
