As the family prepares to lay him to rest on November 20, Darell's father, who lives in Nigeria, has been denied a visa to travel to the United States. This denial means a grieving father may be unable to attend his own son's funeral, comfort his devastated wife and surviving children, or participate in the final rites and ceremonies that bring closure to a family shattered by loss. Thousands of miles already separates him from his loved ones during this painful time, preventing him from standing beside them in their darkest hour would deepen an already unbearable sorrow.
