Dear #Bitcoin family,
The AON campaign for Proof of Work wrapped up successfully. Thank you ❤️
A few of you wrote in asking how to still get a copy, so I’ve opened a simple pre-order page here:

I am grateful to have met y'all. Abrazos :)
Namaste,

I did run for Hal today :)
Run For Hal Lugano 🇨🇭
Proof of work. The 1% of the 1% of the 1%. It takes a seriously low time preference to be a bitcoiner, get up before sunrise in the dark and cold, and run for Hal.
What a fantastic turnout for our third year by the lake. Thank you to everyone who ran, and bonus kudos to the two who completed their first 5km 🙌 And as we finished, the sky turned a warm orange. A message from Hal? 🧡
Shout-outs:
Volunteer leaders: @emjshrx, Ed and Richard
@LuganoPlanB, for being wonderful hosts
@youralsnetwork, Hal Finney ALS/MND Research Fund
@franfinney, inspiration and guidance 🧡

Left with one lesson: communities aren't built on hype.
They're built on hope, joy and people who care 🧡

A friend told me Bitcoin can't do 100x anymore because there isn't enough electricity to mine it. I ran the numbers. A 100x after the next halving means miners earn about $1.8 billion a day, enough to pay for around 500 GW of mining. That's about 14% of the world's electricity, or some 500 nuclear reactors, and nobody builds that in one halving cycle. Who gets the miners first: countries that can permit a dam or a reactor in months, or ones that don't require permits at all?
See the cost of mining vs. price correlation, about how hashrate follows price (not the other way around), based on mining cost (capital cost of ASICs and electricity)

Heads up to anyone flying into Milan, Italy on a Schengen visa!
I have been waiting for 2 hours to just cross the immigration.
So please dont plan anything.
I appreciate the security, but having us do biometrics again on entrance is a bit too much and tedious!
Happy journey:)

Most hardware wallets talk to your computer over USB or Bluetooth. SeedSigner talks through a camera and QR codes.
You scan a transaction into it, check the details on its screen, sign, and it shows a QR code for your wallet app to scan back. There’s no data cable and no wireless link for anything to travel through.
It also doesn’t keep your seed after it’s switched off. You load it when you need it, and when the power goes, so does the key.
Unchained’s report points out that QR and microSD transfers reduce exposure to attacks aimed at always-connected interfaces. One catch it also stresses: you still have to verify the transaction details on the device’s screen. The air gap protects the channel, not your attention.
