I don’t drink anymore 18 months sober. However I did try a Guinness Zero not for me Im afraid way too bitter. However 0 alcohol drinks is there any point anyway.

Just a quick update Since Ive been gone George won the National Series 2024 and BC forgot to give him the trophy and did not invite him to the Champions Dinner #sameoldshit Glad I no longer get involved with the BC cycling scene Kermit and Miss Piggy spring to mind.

The UK scene is a disaster and one that is a self fulfilling prophecy. The demise of my team and St P is a direct result of nobody in authority ever understanding or listening. Im done with it as worn out with being at loggerheads with uniformed uneducated and in the main deluded fan boys who are supposed to be running our sport. Put up or shut up. Review was a farce and the development scene is very much becoming a distant memory RIP UK Conti Teams and best of luck any team going forward. I applaud you all who have and will give it a go to help riders progress.

I added up what was spent on my team whilst I ran it and it was the price of a modest house over 14 years. Well done me as I never once got the federation listening correctly or any real respect for the challenge and stress.Chapeau to all who have and will give it a go. #BCElite #Cycling

Well every dog has his day and for me its time to close the Team Owner chapter in my life 31st December 2024. Id like to thanks every one of the helpers , riders, equipment partners , sponsors and organisers who without them project Spirit would have never happened. However the biggest thank you is to my wife Sallie Rowles who allowed me to indulge myself and to spend a small fortune on the team over the last decade plus. I wont ‘ kiss and tell’ or single out good or bad but we all know the sport at Elite level is in a difficult phase in the UK. I have now handed over the team to Josh Parkin and Jason Nind who though may find it difficult to continue but have a product and set up which was in my opinion at times second to none. The fun was off the scale and my way was always to have a laugh without being a joke, and I think I achieved that. However without working capital and cashflow the landscape of today and riders expectations make it impossible to run a team like Spirit. If you want to reach out to the lads and help them continue then please do. All the best Rus

Cycling Weekly article ‘Wuhan Weapons’ Comedy gold Look running a team is a money pit with very few able to do it or afford and many ready to critique or not interested in sponsorship. Riders think everything should be free , the logistic costs are farcical. I have a plan to make it better re pay to play and guest spots. It’s the only sustainable model to offer a credible euro race program. But I know it will be dismissed as not ‘ in the rules’ so teams will collapse in 2025 and Conti will be a thing of memory for the UK. This needs a sensible head with a knowledge of the sport , business and economics. Um wonder who that is.

Since the attack personally and on here by the guy who has won some stripey jumpers Ive struggled. As a fellow MH sufferer I thought he would be a better person but I was wrong. So its adios to all on here from me It was a giggle at times and I had some nice followers.
