Weâre scrappy⌠and weâre winning. And the only thing better than the Brewers sweeping the series would be if they were publicly owned and not just publicly subsidized! jacobin.com/2026/10/baseballâŚ
I strongly condemn the raid carried out earlier today by the Department of Homeland Security on the DC home of Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (@Ilhan).
This is a state-sponsored attack against a political enemy, led by a fascist, and itâs a stunt to distract from Trumpâs failures.
âWhen one department in Wisconsin has our data, they all do.â
My deep thanks to MKE County Supervisor @justinbielinski (2nd pic) and his colleagues supporting immediate action to remove Flock cameras from our parks. (1/
MPD and MCSO would like you to stop yelling at them about Flock cameras, though. And to just get used to mass surveillance, already.
Thatâs why theyâre already shifting the conversation to different manufacturers, other surveillance tech. (See the attached screenshot!)ďżź (4/
Adopting fire sprinklers in new construction, and incentivizing retrofits, is one way to preserve not just housing, but life. Todayâs demo by the Milwaukee Fire Department underlines how critical it is to have public policy - like AB661 authored by Senator LaTonya Johnson. (2/3)
When I volunteer in shelters to assist folks who have lost their homes - and sometimes loved ones - to residential fires, I often wonder if something could have been done to prevent that loss.
Hereâs a case where we can and should do more: fire sprinklers. (1/3)
MPDâs Chief Normanâs chief-of-staff has already apologized that he isnât present. Also their in house expert on Flock is on vacation. Not a great start!
Join Milwaukee Turners, @ACLUofWisconsin , and many others *today* at 5:30pm in Room 301-B at City Hall.
We're demanding an end to contracts between the Milwaukee Police Department and Flock (makers of very hackable "automated license plate readers," ie cameras). (1/2)
Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic points out that her constituents are furious, the abuses have been terrifying and outrageous, and that MPDâs self-imposed guardrails are wildly insufficient. Sheâs right.

Flock's guidance on lobbying city councils makes one thing very clear: these cameras are tools for mass surveillance, and they know it.
This flawed, unsecure technology will never be used responsibly by law enforcement.
