We're pleased to be at today's Educate, Empower, Protect: Supporting Schools and Settings in Ending Violence Against Women and Girls conference at the Crowne Plaza Belfast, where more than 100 delegates have come together to explore how education, collaboration and early intervention can help create safer, more respectful communities. 🤝🏽📚💜
Bringing together education leaders, practitioners, policymakers, young people and specialist organisations, the event highlights the importance of collective action and ensuring young people's voices are at the heart of the conversation.
Delegates heard opening remarks from Jayne Simms, Gina McIntyre and Antoin Moran, alongside an insightful keynote from Dr Siobhan McAlister of Queen's University Belfast. Attendees also experienced the powerful drama performance Behind the Banter, which challenged attitudes and behaviours and encouraged reflection on the role we all play in preventing violence against women and girls. 🎭

📸Finance Minister @JohnODowdSF visited Peatlands Park in Dungannon today to hear about the PEAT+ project, which has benefitted from €19.2m of PEACE PLUS funding.
The cross-border initiative supports biodiversity recovery by restoring peatlands and habitats for threatened species.
The project also supports rural jobs, skills and community engagement around awareness of climate and environmental protection.

Residents from the Downpatrick, Mournes, Slieve Croob and Rowallane areas enjoyed a memorable day at Delamont Country Park as part of the final event in our popular Seniors’ Summer Scheme. ☀️
Led by expert forager Joan Noade from Finnebrougue Woods, participants uncovered the secrets of wild edible plants, learned how to identify seasonal species safely and discovered creative ways to use foraged ingredients in everyday meals. 🥗
People had opportunities to socialise, explore our beautiful surroundings and celebrate the rich natural heritage that makes our district so special. What a fantastic way to bring the summer programme to a close 🙌

Young people from St Gerard's Special School, Beechlawn School and Glenveagh School recently came together for the Sport 4 Peace Inclusive Games 🙌
Coaches from Ulster GAA, @UlsterRugby, @IrishFA and @FAIreland delivered fun, inclusive Gaelic games, rugby and football activities, adapted so everyone could take part 🏐🥎🏉⚽️
The event highlighted how sport builds confidence, teamwork, respect and connections across communities. A huge thank you to St Gerard's Special School for hosting, and for treating everyone to well-earned ice cream after an action-packed morning in the sunshine!
Sport 4 Peace is funded through the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by @SEUPB, using sport to bring young people from different backgrounds and abilities together.
