#Somaliland's borders inherited from colonial rule is a key principle 4 the

Read this unreported historical records on Somaliland independence.
I bet even Somaliland politicians aren't aware of this
📄 A declassified CIA intelligence bulletin on Somaliland, 1960. Somaliland independence was hijacked.
Even the CIA was reporting on Somaliland's push for immediate independence. Britain had planned a gradual transfer of power over several years, but certain nationalists had other plans.
The CIA described the nationalists as “UAR-supported.” The United Arab Republic, which was receiving Soviet assistance at the time.
Somaliland achieved independence on 26 June 1960, only to enter union with Somalia five days later. That was the self-inflicted wound, assisted by USSR backed United Arab Republic.

Before you talk about Somalia, get this in your heads
When you hear Federal Somalia, it's the black dots on this map
That's it
The rest are controlled by Alshabab or active disputed war zone
Even those black dots are largely foreign African troops and not the Somalian army.

The state department is stuck in the past, but the reality will sink in once we witness a Kabul 2.0 and Al Shabaab take over.

We pumped billions into corrupt Somalia, and the first thing they do when Al-Shabaab shows some initiative is to defect. This will always be a failed state, why the U.S. doesn’t just recognize Somaliland and cut their loses in Somalia is beyond me.
Alert. 🚨Somalia civil war has begun.
Former head of NISA (Somali National Intelligence Agency) chief Sanbalolshe has just crossed from Ethiopia border with a heavily armed convoy of his own troops. He defected with his forces and has openly refused to rule out an Al-Shabaab alliance to topple the president and government. @grok confirm.
#Somaliland: India's 1971 movement👇
In 1971, India recognised that territorial claims alone could not settle Bangladesh’s future. In Somaliland’s case, the legal question goes one step further: can a failed political union permanently extinguish the sovereignty of a state that existed before the union was created?

An extraordinary display of discipline and commitment to judicial process unfolded in #Somaliland’s eastern Sanaag region, where a soldier, Ahmed Geedi Mohamed, apprehended the suspect in his brother’s murder and transported him 200 kilometers to face prosecution rather than carrying out extrajudicial retaliation.
A statement issued by the Somaliland National Police Force confirmed that the Commander of the Somaliland Police Force, Brigadier General Abdirahman Abdillahi Hassan, has invited the soldier who demonstrated exceptional dedication and bravery to his office, where he will be presented with a high-level award and official honors.

The House of Representatives of the Republic of #Somaliland voted today against the immediate passage of the Press Law, resolving instead to refer the legislation to a special parliamentary committee.
1) A total of 25 MPs voted in favor of passing the bill immediately without committee referral.
2) A total of 25 MPs voted in favor of committing the bill to a special parliamentary committee.
3) In a notable procedural outcome, the tie vote was broken under parliamentary rules by House Speaker Yasin Haji Mohamud Hiir (Faratoon), whose deciding vote aligned with lawmakers seeking to refer the Press Law to committee review.

Türkiye to seize $billions in Somalian natural resource revenue in exchange for sending 15,000 Syrian rebels to replace AUSSOM forces who are due to depart!
Another strategic win for Türkiye in Somalia as Ankara’s candidate is selected as the next Speaker of the Somalian Parliament.
As Mogadishu’s local political power struggle intensifies with a President who’s mandate has expired and regional proxy competition grows, Ankara is securing its interests in Somalia, embedding itself deeper into its political institutions so it can outlast both the President and his opposition.
The question is no longer whether Türkiye is influential in Somalia, but rather how far Ankara will go to secure its extractive investments in the war torn state!

False claims of Somaliland history by Somalians will give them neither history nor the character described by Gerald Hanley in his books. The warriors that Hanley described are the forefathers of the galant SNM freedom fighters who defeated FAQASH and restored Somaliland.
People from Somalia frequently love to circulate this famous quotation below by the Irish writer and travelor Gerald Hanley. The problem is that the writer's observations were drawn only from his encounters with Somalilanders during his travels and experiences in British Somaliland, whose people and way of life he described at length in his celebrated book, "Warriors and Strangers: Life Among the Somalis", presenting it as a testament to Somalilnders' national character, courage and fierce sense of independence.
In other words,Somalians who proudly circulate Hanley's words should at least acknowledge the people and the land that inspired them.
The irony is that a quotation so enthusiastically embraced by Somalians as a source of national pride has its roots in the very Somaliland whose distinct history and identity none of those Somlians sharing it refuse to acknowledge.

#India and #Somaliland shared an extensive maritime trading network between the 11th and 14th centuries AD, as evidenced by archaeological artifacts discovered from ancient coastal and inland cities such as Bandar Abbas, Siyaara, and Fardowsa.

It is entirely up to you if you believe the propaganda spread by @AJENews, the @OIC_OCI, the @arableague_gs, or the failed entity of #Somalia calling #Somaliland 'so-called' or a region of Somalia, all without presenting a single shred of evidence that Somaliland was ever part of Somalia historically or legally.
The history of Somaliland as a separate country is carved in stone and fully documented in global archives, libraries, the UN, and international institutions over the past 1,000 years, setting aside its failed union with Somalia from 1960-1991. The aim of these few Arab countries - #Egypt, #Qatar, #KSA - is not to support the suffering people of Somalia, but to use Somalia as a tool against #Ethiopia. As a democratic and forward looking people, Somalilanders view these countries as backward and Pro-Muslim Brotherhood. This is the evolution of the Somaliland passport from 1909 to 2026
Somaliland Passport
A journey of identity from 1935 documents to the e-passport generation. At the Immigration and Border Control Department pavilion at Somaliland Technology Exhibition 2026, the story of the national passport is told stage by stage: from documents of the British era and the union years' passports, to the passport of the Republic of Somaliland in 2000, then the service update in 2014 and the new generation in 2023, up to the electronic passport featuring advanced security and faster travel.
