Another son forced on to social media & into politics by this venal Pakistani regime …
No one has seen or heard from my father since August, when he explicitly said that he was being tortured and that the regime was trying to kill him like Egypt’s government did Morsi. The UN Special Rapporteur on torture has repeatedly stated that his treatment amounts to torture. Pakistan’s fascist regime, led by military dictator Asim Munir, continue to ignore the Supreme Court order from August for my father to be assessed and treated at the private Shifa International Hospital, as well as for regular access to family visits and access to his lawyers. It is clear that they are trying to kill him as he is by far the most popular political figure in the country, and they fear him. If the worst happens, no one should make any mistake who is responsible. It is Asim Munir with the approval of the illegitimate Pakistani government. Every government that continues to legitimise this regime will be complicit in this and the resulting chaos and destabilisation it causes in the region. No state that is engaging in friendly relations with this fascist Pakistani regime can truly claim to uphold the values of democracy or human rights.

Western capitals keep dealing with the same military leadership in Pakistan because it is useful , work for their interests, regional leverage, short-term selfish goals The democracy and human-rights talk gets dropped. It is the latest chapter in Pakistan’s long cycle of military dominance dressed in civilian clothes . Pathetic!
Imran Khan, his wife and his sisters are all in prison facing persecution, and torture at the hands of the military regime in Pakistan. And yet, the Western powers continue aiding and abetting the brutal military dictator responsible for crimes against humanity. Simply because he’s compliant and useful for their short term interests.

Exactly. Once everyone with power is a sacred cow, the only crime left is asking.
Questioning the military is treason. Questioning politicians is anti-democratic. Questioning journalists is trolling. Questioning mullahs is blasphemy. In a country where everyone is now a sacred cow, the only one you can hold accountable are the people daring to ask the question.

When Pakistanis go overseas, they’re accused of lacking honesty, a strong work ethic and civic sense. In a country where elections are a sham, democracy is a charade and the army rules from behind a shroud of lies, why are we surprised by the values that filter down? When those in power make a mockery of truth, law and integrity, what example are they setting? You cannot build a nation of honest citizens on a foundation of institutionalised deceit.

The core criticism of Pakistan’s 26th and 27th Constitutional Amendments is that they systematically erode judicial independence, weaken the separation of powers, and shield the executive and military leadership from legal accountability.

I appreciate Rubio’s transparency about US policy on Pakistan, which is essentially about, as he says, “having influence over the decisions they make on a variety of topics.” The same policy was worded differently during the Clinton era and later during Blinken’s time at the State Department. When it comes to Pakistan, it doesn't matter whether it's Republicans or Democrats in power, they both have a consensus on policy of securing compliance from Pakistan. And what better way to do that than having your “Favourite Field Marshal” run the country in compliance with American priorities.
Marco Rubio on Pakistan: In no way does the relationship with Pakistan come at the expense of our relationship with India. We share the same concerns India does about terrorism. We have been victims of terrorism, as India has been.

Unlimited power of Limited minds. Pakistan’s decline is the price of leaving its future in the hands of self-serving generals, giving unlimited power to limited minds. The Result? Pakistanis pay the price in lost opportunities, stolen freedoms, and an uncertain future for generations to come.

Ramblings of Samtastic. True peace begins the moment we stop needing to be understood, stop asking to be admired, and learn to pass through life like a quiet breeze, unseen, unnoticed, unknown, and completely free.

This is what happens when Washington encourages military dictatorship, calls a fascist dictator its “favorite field marshal,” and enables corrupt politicians to run the country. Democracy is weakened, repression is rewarded, but in the end the ordinary people aam swam pay the price.

A letter by Allama Muhammad Iqbal arguing that his idea was of a Muslim province within the Indian federation further suggesting that the idea of Pakistan originated in Cambridge and nothing to do with him. Worth researching into this document.
