Hilton said the encounter captured the desperation he heard from working Californians throughout the campaign.
“I really hope that our new governor, the new Legislature, understands that,” he said. “That’s the number one thing I’ve learned in the last year and a half, and it breaks my heart to say it: Californians are at breaking point, and we’ve got to do something about that.”
For now, Hilton plans to take a few weeks off, spend time with friends and family and enjoy the holidays before deciding what comes next.
“You can’t give up,” Hilton said. “You can’t give up on the state. You can’t give up on all those people who are desperate for change.”

It's amazing much damage the uni-party machine here in California has done over the past two decades to make everything worse, then the people living here simply blame all of these problems on Washington D.C. The solution is to have balance at all levels of government especially locally. Please do your research then cast your vote.
It's hard to trust government
They told us to use less water because of drought. We listened. So they jacked up water rates (by a LOT) to make up for the water we didn’t buy!
Then they told us to buy EVs, even gave rebates. Now @XavierBecerra wants to impose EV tax AND mileage tax because EVs skip the gas tax!
Can’t make this up! We do NOT have a revenue problem. We have a spending & theft & fraud problem. Period.
If you want to pay WAY more tax, vote Becerra. If not, you know what to do. @SteveHiltonx is our ONLY hope.

Last week, I ran into a very senior California Democrat politician (who I know & won’t “out” to maintain trust). Part of the state “machine.”
This person said “I’m blown away by @SteveHiltonx - he’s campaigned in every county, has serious policy proposals & is well liked. @XavierBecerra has been an embarrassment. He’s said & done nothing, taking Democrat votes for granted while Steve genuinely hustles. And his message resonates with Democrats.”
Likened Hilton to Democrat SF Mayor @DanielLurie who has earned broad bipartisan support by addressing major issues with common sense policies everyone can agree with - while producing tangible results.
