Based on the lack of chat, I really don’t think folk have grasped the potential implications of that recent judgement. It’s a fundamental, total change to the game as we know it. Players will now just be employees. Like any other. Sign a contract & work their notice if they want to go. No compensation unless notice is breached. It changes the game completely. For us, our successful commercial operation means we’re much stronger than many others. Those who have made an art form of player trading are banjaxed if they don’t also have successful commercial ops. The unbridgeable gap between us & the top leagues with massive TV deals, will now be permanently unbridgeable, as we can’t lessen the gap with astute player trading. This is going to irrevocably change the football landscape.
