yesss 1 year later, 1st migratory trip ever recorded for Grant's band-rumped #StormPetrel from #CanaryIs just recovered in #MontañaClara by @Begarcia98 & @GIAranega 🏆😍💪 This is just a raw trip with large errors but enough to confirm they "winter" in summer off Eastern USA!
One main objective of our visit to #MontañaClara is to study the migration of this poorly known cool population of band-ramped #StormPetrel in #CanaryIs. We found 19 nests and deployed 7 #geolocators. Now we have to wait for 1y to get them back!! 🤞🤞@begarcia89 #Hydrobates

The story behind the discovery and current research on Vanuatu Petrel has so many layers- worth getting your head around if you’ve got 25 minutes for the podcast.
Great to hear the story of this precious bird & know that it is getting the attention it deserves. Photo by Stephen Totterman: Colin Miskelly & I on the colony in 2011 (NB our accidentally matching outfits & Colin still grinning despite the bird having its bill around his finger)
