As the great people of Oleshky arrived to Ukraine after a long trip @WCKitchen lead by Yuliya is ready with borscht, and many other Ukranian dishes!
The route was long: from Oleshky through Crimea to Anapa in Russia, then a flight to Belarus and onward by road into Chernihiv region. After a journey like that, warm, good food matters a great deal. #ChefsForUkraine

🇩🇪🇺🇦 German volunteer Phillip Maximilian Lattermann, callsign “Flip,” has reportedly been killed fighting for Ukraine against Russia's invasion.
He came from Germany to defend a country that was not his own, standing alongside Ukrainians in their fight for freedom.
His reported death has not yet been independently confirmed.
Honor, respect, and eternal gratitude to this brave German volunteer.
Ukraine will never forget those who stood beside her in her darkest hour.

During the evacuation from Russian-occupied Oleshky, people from nearby settlements who asked for help along the way were also picked up and brought to safety.
Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said the mission aimed to give everyone who needed to leave a chance to do so safely:
"They said they wanted to go to Ukraine. The discussion didn’t last very long, and we took everyone with us.
We took absolutely everyone who wanted to leave. Even though this was not exactly a pre-arranged operation, but rather an impromptu decision, the most important thing is that we were able to evacuate this group of our citizens as well."

A bullet went through his head. Somehow, he inhaled it into his lungs. And he survived.
26-year-old Mykhailo “Skhidnyi” from Kramatorsk, an FPV drone pilot, was shot in the head during a firefight with two russian assault troops just two metres above his trench.
The 5.45 mm bullet pierced his skull, passed through his nasal cavity and ended up in his bronchi. Doctors retrieved it from his lungs using a magnetic probe. His brain was miraculously spared.
A month later, he was walking again. A few months later, he returned to his unit — despite being declared unfit for service and receiving a third-degree disability classification.
He went back to the front, became an instructor, trained dozens of drone pilots, and today commands a strike UAV company in the 1st Separate Assault Regiment named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo.
A kid from Donetsk Oblast who lived through russian occupation as a child in 2014. Today, he is fighting for his homeland.
Ukraine survives because of men like Mykhailo.

Diana told us the story of her dad for years. A kind hearted regular guy who loved his family and went to war to defend them from a brutal invasion.

Fellas, if you’ve been paying attention to my recent photos, you’ve probably noticed that I’m not living in my apartment—that is, in Kyiv—right now.

For the past six months, I’ve been living in a village, in an old house built before World War II out of wood and clay. The place sat abandoned for nearly 10 years, and now I’m trying to make it comfortable. It’s quite a challenge, as I have some skills but lack others. Still, I have internet access and electricity (sometimes—when it’s on, anyway). The old brick stove was beyond repair, so I had to get rid of it and buy a small iron stove instead. It’s WARM now!😊 I also have bottled gas. I fetch spring water from a well and saw up dead trees for firewood. I’m constantly on the move! There’s fresh air and a relative sense of peace here. And keep in mind, I’m a city boy born and bred. All my gear for building DRONES is here, too.
It’s a shame that everything is moving much slower now than it used to.
WE WILL NOT GIVE UP AND WE WILL NOT CAPITULATE!🤬
