Isaias is headed to the Gulf Coast. As we know, these storms can be unpredictable and life-threatening. For seniors, it is even more important to be prepared in the event of a disaster and have a plan in place. Residents in the watch area should follow advice given by local officials and evacuate if told to do so. 2. The risk of damaging hurricane force-winds is increasing over portions of the Florida Panhandle, southern Alabama, and Mississippi. A Hurricane Watch has been issued from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, to Indian Pass, Florida. Residents in these areas should prepare for the possibility of long-duration power outages. 3. Chairman @SenRickScott has been fighting against regulatory delays so Americans with rare diseases have a better chance to live a full life. Sadie, who is living with Sanfilippo Syndrome, is one of the many reasons he’s fighting for action and safe, effective treatments. Earlier this year, her story was shared at a Senate Aging Hearing. Bureaucratic hurdles impact real families and children across the country. We heard a moving story about Sadie, who was diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome at just three months old. For degenerative diseases, medical delays mean permanent loss. Chairman @SenRickScott held a hearing to confront regulatory delays and give patients like Sadie the chance to live a longer, healthier life with access to consistent, innovative care.

Thousands of bottles of a generic diuretic used for high blood pressure and fluid retention are being recalled after failed testing. India-based Inventia Healthcare Limited is pulling 13,567 bottles of 25-milligram chlorthalidone nationwide because of a “failed dissolution specification,” meaning the active ingredient did not dissolve properly and may not be absorbed as intended. The FDA classified the Sept. 3 recall as Class II on Sept. 17, a category in which exposure may cause temporary or medically reversible harm and the chance of serious harm is remote.

This bill requires dating apps to notify users if someone messaging them is suspected of scamming others. As Chairman of the @SenateAging Committee, I’ve heard so many heartbreaking stories of romance scams exploiting our seniors, taking their savings and leaving them feeling emotionally broken. This bill is a great step toward stopping scammers from exploiting innocent Americans. I look forward to @POTUS signing it into law ASAP!
