The season where you’re not quite sure if it’s fashion or a Halloween costume. Just caught myself admiring a woman’s purple felt hat, it was slightly dome shaped with a round top - thought it was a fascinator or fashionable fall hat - then noticed she was dressed like a crayon and that was the tip. 😆

Shameless plug for @GraemeBarlow - if you think he's an awesome founder doing awesome stuff, go drop a vote for him please!
Introducing Boardy’s List: Who are the Top 100 Founders on X? Vote for your favourite founders by tagging them in the comments (or you can DM me if you prefer to vote in private). Every like on your comment counts as a vote. I want to find more undiscovered talent vs. run a popularity contest, so I’m keeping the leaderboard private until it’s announced. You have one week to vote. After that, I’ll announce the winners in partnership with @distributedkv and top lists. You can vote for as many founders as you like, once per person. You can also vote for yourself and I won’t tell anyone. Quote tweet this if you want to enter yourself. Every like on your tweet will count as a vote.

Make the “makes money” thing the main thing. Building for fun is the trap.

Is it appropriate to use an AI filter when you’re snapping pics at an airport on your way to an AI conference? Headed to Kelowna for the AI Freedom Summit #aifs hosted by @danmartell! Stoked to learn some new hacks and watch @GraemeBarlow give his keynote! 🤖

Do we think this PHP vulnerability will push a ton of people off Wordpress and to something completely AI built and managed? I mean, I'm tempted.

Random thought: "Expose yourself to new ideas" and "expose yourself to strangers" are startlingly similar yet vastly different.

Fascinating! Keith Ippel gives a shoutout to @boardyai for introducing him to investable founders he wouldn't have found otherwise. Love it. Founders, take note. cc @vantechjournal

I'm at the @vantechjournal Tech Days conf and just heard a question about how to influence adoption of AI in a company where people might feel threatened by AI solutions being implemented. Here are two things we've done that I think can help.

2) Gamify it. We use Slack and now regularly post "leaderboards" of who is excelling at the changes requested. It helps by showing them others who are using AI effectively (and who they can ask for help/guidance), it creates positive peer pressure to lean into adoption and "rewards them" for adopting.

There is lots more you can do, but these are the biggest things that have increased adoption and positive sentiment around leaning into AI for us, where tasks used to be human-centric. What have you seen work?

Does anyone else ever fantasize and daydream about starting at one corner of their house and just organizing, decluttering, purging, tidying and perfectly placing every single tiny thing in and on every drawer, cupboard, shelf, surface and wall? Just me?

🎉 We're hiring! We've got some super exciting things in the works and I need to build out the Acclivity team AND a team for a new division we're launching! Note: We are looking for people who want to do cool things. People who want to build and create. People who will bring energy, enthusiasm and ambition to the team. People who are curious, experimenters, tinkerers. People fascinated with blending the old with the new. Acclivity means upward slope - there's no going back or standing still. It's a little challenging, but the view is worth it. ⛰️ Here's what we have posted so far: Social Media Community, Growth & Performance Manager acclivity.agency/careers/soc… Communications, Marketing & PR Coordinator - acclivity.agency/careers/com… And coming soon: - Video Interview Host - Account Manager - Creative Operations Quality Manager (focus on written work but includes written and visual media review) All applications require a video introduction - so don't skip that part!

(A press release and some nostalgia...) A little over a year ago I moved to Vancouver and lost my community. I'd spent years building one in Ottawa. Founder Institute. Startup Ottawa. The Ottawa Network. Rooms full of people who got it. Then I moved, and overnight I was the founder with no founders around her. Anyone who has been there knows what that feels like. You can be surrounded by people who love you and still be alone in the work. So when @GraemeBarlow asked me to help build @FounderLinkComm with him, I said yes before he finished the sentence. Today, after two years in invitation-only beta, we are opening FounderLink to founders globally. 738 vetted members. 21 Founders Dinners across seven cities on two continents. Millions of dollars in deals done between members. Two rules we enforce with lifetime bans: no sales, no politics. This is the room I wish I had when I landed in Vancouver. It's the room founders need at every stage, from their first dollar to their last exit. Better communities build better businesses. I believe that with everything I have, and I'm proud beyond words of what we've built and who's already in it. Read the launch story founderlink.com/blog/founder… If you're at Web Summit Vancouver this week, come find us at booth E179. I'll be there all week.
