While everyone talks about future quantum security, Starknet has already shipped a specific cryptographic change on mainnet.
Its OS program and configuration hashes moved from Pedersen to a BLAKE2s-256-based construction.
Not a testnet experiment. Not a future promise.
Already live.
Now, here's the important distinction.
This doesn't mean Starknet is fully quantum-safe.
State commitments, contract address derivation, account signatures and Ethereum-facing dependencies still need separate work.
And that's what makes this interesting to me.
Cryptographic migration isn't one magical upgrade that fixes everything overnight.
It's a series of carefully scoped changes, each with its own implementation and evidence.
One piece has shipped. Others are still on the roadmap.
That's a much more useful story than another quantum-security headline.
