Been watching the Canadian reaction to the US midterms, and once again Canadians reveal how little they understand about US politics and how the outside world operates. So let me help you with a few important bits of information:
House Democrats do not have the power to roll back tariffs on Canada. Tariffs are an executive order.
China is the one issue both Democrats and Republicans unanimously agree on.
Democrats have already stated they have no plan to roll back tariffs on Canada should they win the presidency in two years (because.... China).
Trump holds veto power over the house.
So nothing changes. But I'm sure you got a tingle in your teenie commie weenies watching Democrats sweep the midterms. And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this more than likely means the US government will grind to a halt while Democrats focus on impeachments and Trump's focus shifts toward internal strife—which means life in Canada will stay the way it is at best or get even harder at worse since we still do a considerable amount of trade with the US.

Whoever has the capacity will has the best leverage on pricing.
If democrats succeed in blocking the construction of AI datacenters that would result in the companies who already own data centers having a monopoly on intelligence.
Intelligence is the most valuable product today, by a mile. Restricting it's ownership to a select few companies who already own infrastructure would create enormous scarcity and pricing power. All of big tech, which have extensive data centers and compute ability already, would become far more valuable.
This is also the exact reason these companies raced to build as many data centers as possible as quick as possible. They knew the regulatory path would become more difficult over time and they rushed to build their castle before that happened.
Big tech is well positioned to win this battle.
