Action SA would do SO much better with Nasiphi at the helm
This man is insufferable
I went to DA event a few months back. My Missus dragged me to it. She wanted talk to Mayor Pappas about something related to service delivery.
Long story short at the end of event I watch him picking up litter and sweeping a floor. That why I voted for him.

The relief you feel when you remember that you live in the Western Cape, where competence is rewarded and the leading voice in coalition negotiations isn't whoever can be the loudest, rudest and most obnoxious person on national television.

DA breaks new ground and expands footprint in the Western Cape
by Tertuis Simmers - DA Western Cape Leader
Date: 6 November 2026
Release: Immediate
The Local Government Elections demonstrated an important moment for the DA Western Cape: retaining municipalities, reclaiming wards from opposition parties and making considerable inroads in historically non-DA communities.
City of Cape Town
Cape Town will remain DA with a projected vote share over 56%. This is a resounding endorsement. Also in Cape Town the DA has won Ward 56 from the PA and grown our vote in townships such as Khayelitsha and Gugulethu.
George Municipality
With 50.3% of the vote, the DA has won an outright majority in George, bringing an end to years of coalitions. The DA has won Ward 11 from the ANC and won Ward 27 from the PA.
Oudtshoorn Municipality
The DA has grown significantly in Oudtshoorn. We have increased our total seats in Council from 7 to 10 seats, and DA support has grown from 30% in 2021 to 37.7% in 2026.
The DA has won a remarkable six wards from other parties:
Ward 2: from FF+ > DA
Ward 4: from ANC > DA
Ward 6: from ANC > DA
Ward 9: from PA > DA
Ward 11: from ANC > DA
Ward 13: from ANC > DA
Knysna Municipality
In Knysna, the DA has seen excellent growth. No party has a majority, but DA support grew from 35.4% in 2021 to 44.4%. The DA has also won two wards off the ANC: Ward 6 and Ward 11.
We increased by one seat in Council, achieving significantly more seats than the other parties. The DA is now the biggest caucus in Knysna.
Across the Western Cape, the DA has grown.
We have retained our DA majority in the following municipalities:
* Bergrivier
* Drakenstein
* Hessequa
* Mossel Bay
* Overstrand
* Stellenbosch
* Swartland
These results reflect a wonderful truth: The DA’s footprint is firmly embedded in communities, and we are encouraged with an increasing diverse support base.
Thank you to every voter, activist, volunteer, staff member, and public representative for an outstanding campaign. Your sacrifice, dedication and commitment have resulted in the Western Cape staying blue!

The flood-damaged sections of the MR547 between Klawer and Vredendal have been repaired.👏👏👏
Work on the Klawer bridge continues, with the eastern support 60% complete and the western support 10% complete. Steel reinforcement is being installed, with roadworks and erosion protection on the eastern side to follow.
One more section of the road is being assessed to see if further work is needed.
