Roy Keane blast Hossam Hassan's(Egypt's Manager) on claim that Argentina were favoured because of World Cup marketing:
π£οΈ "That's the sort of excuse you expect from supporters after a bad night, not from a national team manager. If your team throws away a 2β0 lead late in the game, the first place you should be looking is in the mirror.
Every time Messi wins, people start talking about conspiracies instead of football. It's lazy. Accept the defeat, analyse what went wrong, and improve your team.
Blaming referees and claiming the tournament is a marketing scheme doesn't change the fact that your side couldn't see the game out. That's not the mentality a national team manager should have. Leaders take responsibility, they don't look for excuses."
Toni Kroos on the claims that Argentina robbed Egypt at the World Cup:
π£οΈ "I don't understand why people always look for excuses after a result like this. Football is decided over 90 minutes, not by one moment. Egypt played an excellent first half, but after going 2β0 up they lost control of the game, and Argentina took advantage. That's what top teams do.
"People keep talking about the referee and VAR, but if you watch the match objectively, Argentina's comeback was built on their intensity, quality, and mentality. They believed until the final whistle, while Egypt couldn't maintain the same level they showed early on.
"You can't throw away a two-goal lead against one of the best teams in the world and then reduce everything to one decision. Football is much more complex than that.
"There will always be debates about refereeing, and that's normal. But saying the match was 'stolen' or that the tournament is being handed to Argentina is unfair to every player on the pitch. The players decide games with their performances, not conspiracy theories.
"The difficult thing after defeat is accepting that the opponent was better in the decisive moments. Argentina deserved credit for the way they responded under pressure, and Egypt should be proud of their performance while also learning from the mistakes that cost them. That's football."

Jonathon played a much better game than Aubry.
He drove votes. She didnt.
Won challenges. She didnt.
Exemplified a great social game. She was basically a goat.
She did almost nothing but won just because of legacy status from amount of returns. Garbage criteria

Raps / Cavs Game 7 in a nutshell:
37 minutes with Scottie Barnes (even with foul trouble) on floor: Tied
11 minutes with Barnes on bench: Cavs win by 12

Young Raps fought like hell to extend this series a lot longer than most ppl expected at full strength, let alone without IQ (& basically w/o BI). Took a really good Cavs team the distance. We learned a lot about these guys. Mostly good things, but also reminded of roster flaws

Raptors came into the series at a size, experience, health & talent disadvantage. Cavs were favoured in every game. Despite the 0-2 hole, shooting woes & injuries to their starting PG & eventually their leading scorer, they pushed it to 7. Showed fight/heart/resiliency. Respect!

The good:
Barnes, CMB, Walter, Barrett, Shead. Rajakovic.
The bad:
Mamukelashvili, the offence, ability to close quarters, the rebounding.
The ugly: Poeltl's back. Some of the contracts on the books.
Ton of credit to the Raptors, overall incredibly positive series, but tough to overcome $70+ million sitting on the bench with injuries and another $20 mil in Poeltl.
Even harder when you donβt know how much those players help you moving forward

That fourth foul on Barnes was an absolute bullshit call. For some reason officials across the league continue to give Harden that call.
And it could be a series-deciding call.
Scottie is an elite player and deserves a better whistle

The Toronto Raptors β who crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side. #WeTheNorth

Barnes is the 1st Raptor ever to record 30+ points, 10+ assists and 5+ rebounds in the playoffs. Also has 2 stocks & 10 FTA, has held Harden to 5-13 FG, and is +18 in 34 mins. With what's at stake, his best game ever and 1 of the greatest playoff performances in franchise history

If you remove free throws from everyone, Bam Adebayo's night would rank 73rd all-time.
Most points in single game
1. Wilt 100
2. Bam 83
3. Kobe 81
Most points without free throws
1. Wilt 72 (100-pt game)
2. Kobe 63 (81-pt game)
3. Wilt 62 (78-pt game)

T-73. Bam 48

Matt Bonner, who was on the Raptors when Kobe Bryant dropped 81 points on them, does not think Bam Adebayoβs 83-point game is as impressive as Kobeβs 81:
βWhen someone has a game like that, you want to think they were on fire, or they were in the zone, and with Bam, he was 7-22 from 3. If someone was 7-22 from 3, Iβm closing out, sure, Iβm not like, βthis guyβs a threat to break the 2nd-most points in a game.ββ
βItβs a fun story, but apples and oranges if youβre comparing it to Kobe.β
βWhen I think of greatest performances in NBA history, thatβs what I picture (Kobe 81), not someone who shot 7-22 from 3, under 50% from the floor, and 42 free throws.β
