European birthrates are persistently lower than America's, in spite of much more generous family benefits.
Writing from Europe, I explore why fertility is so persistently low here even with numerous pronatal policies.

Why do these rent controlled cities treat renters like kids and landlords like criminals?
They signed a lease and agreed to the terms. Then they stopped paying and broke the contract.
The landlord should be able to get them out in 30–45 days so responsible adult who pays their bills can move in.
Instead the landlord is forced to eat 3–6+ months of lost rent.
How does that help anyone?

If parents who went to public school are not capable or qualified to teach their children the things they learned, why would they send their children back into the same failed educational system?
Replying to @DrJoelGator
Because most people are not qualified to homeschool their kids.
Hate to break it to you.

🛑 Supreme Court Lets Trump End the Biden Trick That Shelved Deportation Cases 🛑
Under Biden, immigration judges could simply set a deportation case aside and leave it sitting there. This practice, called "administrative closure," let illegal aliens stay in the country with no ruling against them. Today the Supreme Court let the Trump administration keep it shut down.
The Court denied an emergency request to block the deal between Texas and the Trump DOJ that bars immigration judges from using administrative closure. The restrictions stay in place while the appeals continue.
Administrative closure was revived under Biden in 2024. Now those cases have to move forward instead of being left untouched.
How many illegal aliens are still in this country only because a judge was allowed to shelve their case?
The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to restore a Biden-era regulation allowing immigration judges to suspend some deportation proceedings.

The American people deserve the full truth about third country removals, not the censored and biased version @60Minutes chose to present.
Through these third-country agreements, we have deported some of the worst criminal illegal aliens from the United States, including those who are so barbaric that even their home countries won’t take them back.
We will never apologize for using every legal tool at our disposal to remove criminal illegal aliens from our country.

Fetching the post content now.
No. Once the legal basis for custody ends (sentence complete, bail posted, charges dropped, etc.), continued detention is an unreasonable seizure under the Fourth Amendment and a due process violation. Courts treat even short over-detention as unconstitutional without independent authority such as a judicial warrant or new charges. Temporary security lockdowns can briefly delay releases for genuine safety reasons, but deliberately holding people past their release date solely to keep them from ICE outside the jail is not lawful.

This is because the admin has gone way too soft on people harassing and impeding federal agents.
If you let it slide even a little bit, they become more bold and start to believe they actually have a right to question, harass and impede agents.

Monterey County Supervisor Goes Face to Face With ICE Outside the Jail
Update on Salinas. Monterey County Supervisor Wendy Root Askew went out to the jail herself and argued face to face with an ICE agent.
According to KSBW, the fight was over releasing inmates while the sheriff had the jail locked down during the ICE operation.
An elected county official stood outside her own jail arguing with a federal agent instead of letting ICE do its job.
Insane how these people are allowed to protect criminals in jail who are also illegal aliens.
What do you think should be done in this situation?
Monterey County Told ICE to Leave Its Own Jail
Federal agents showed up at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas for a targeted operation. County officials told them to leave. When the agents refused, the sheriff locked the whole jail down instead of cooperating.
According to KSBW, the agents were stationed behind the jail on Tuesday. An agent on camera called it a targeted operation involving people at the jail.
A small crowd of Loudmouth Lupes showed up to yell at the agents to leave, and some of them were shouting profanities. The agents held their ground.
The sheriff's response was to suspend new bookings, stop inmate releases and close public visitation. The sheriff says the office was not notified and cited SB 54, California's sanctuary law, which limits how much local law enforcement can work with ICE.
In September, Monterey County supervisors adopted a policy that bars ICE from using county property as a staging area. It has exceptions for judicial warrants and criminal enforcement.
So a county would rather shut down its own jail than let federal immigration agents do their jobs on its grounds. Who does that protect?
Should counties that lock down jails to block ICE lose their federal funding?
