For three decades, you have promised to build a South Africa that is “better for all”. But somewhere along the way, the meaning of for all got lost and the struggle became increasingly about you, your comrades and the privileges that come with power. You became arrogant, disconnected and out of touch with the very people you were elected to serve. The blue lights, bodyguards, government positions and VIP treatment got into your heads. You gradually forgot that public office is a responsibility, not a reward, and that leadership is about serving people, not looking down on them. You prioritised everyone else (investors, foreigners and international interests) while neglecting the ordinary South Africans who entrusted you with their votes. We watched your fellow comrades boast about having the option of taking a shower at a hotel when there was no water at home, while ordinary citizens were expected to endure hours, sometimes days, without water flowing from their taps. You failed to maintain the country’s infrastructure and allowed criminal mafias to establish themselves in spaces where the state should be firmly in control. You ratified international treaties and agreements without adequately considering their long-term implications for our economic sovereignty and development. You turned government departments, municipalities and SOEs into territories of political patronage rather than institutions of public service. I could write until tomorrow about the opportunities wasted, the institutions weakened and the promises betrayed. But perhaps the greatest tragedy is that you reduced the meaning of democracy to the act of voting every five years. You forgot that democracy does not end at the ballot box. It lives in the quality of water coming out of people’s taps, the safety of their neighbourhoods, the jobs they can access, the dignity with which they are treated and the confidence they have in their government. South Africa was never meant to be a country where a select few enjoy the fruits of democracy while millions are left to survive on promises. I hope that one day you will pause, look beyond your positions and privileges, and honestly reflect on what you have done with the trust of the people. History will not judge you by how long you stayed in power, how many blue lights escorted you or how many positions your comrades occupied. It will judge you by whether the lives of ordinary South Africans became better because you were entrusted with leadership. There is still a country worth fighting for, a democracy worth protecting and a future worth building. But that future must put ordinary South Africans back at the centre of everything. The people were never meant to serve those in power. Those in power were elected to serve the people.

I'm more bothered that we stopped manufacturing the Atlas Cheetah, a domestic product that was a 4th gen fighter. We could have been in 5th Gen fighters domestically made by now. But then again, I remember we're ran by the ANC, a US State Department project designed to destroy us
South Africa should look towards military agreements with Russia

You can never shake the political atmosphere in SA like these two beautiful women, @JacintaNgobese is giving the corrupt GNU government sleepless nights in terms of Immigration and @Princymthombeni is cooking them in terms of the Constitution and Nuclear energy. Cook them queens!

There's a sort of intellectual narcissism in these twitter streets where people think that just because they are paying attention to something for the first time, it is also happening for the first time and must be a conspiracy.

sometimes you don’t realise how deeply jealousy has surrounded and affected you until you look back, especially if it’s been from a young age coming from people you loved. you become immune to it at some point and yeah, that may protect you, but it hides the hurt which can be a gift and a curse. so recognise it, but never let it make you doubt yourself. use it as fuel to keep becoming.

You must show the same energy in protecting water infrastructure vandalised by water-tank mafias. Deploy the army to deal decisively with construction mafias too. Your government has far bigger problems to deal with than prioritising the protection of foreigners whose own governments have failed them.
Peaceful protest is a constitutional right. Violence, looting and intimidation are crimes. Those accused must receive a fair trial. The State has a duty to protect lives, property and public order. #GovZAUpdates

You assume people will act fairly if you act fairly, they won’t. People act in alignment with their incentives, not your expectations. If the structure rewards selfishness, selfishness appears.

Thabiso, You are wasting your time with etymology and critical thinking. "Educated" fools assume ranking methodologies from Rockefeller foundation are measurement of knowledge
Docere means to teach, to show, to cause to know. Doctor is the agent noun, the one authorised to do that. The medieval licentia docendi was a formal licence to teach within the university, not a licence to administer cities, maintain infrastructure, or deliver public services. The modern research PhD extended that licence into the production of original knowledge, but it never changed the underlying purpose. The skills it systematically develops are those of analysis, methodological design, evaluation of evidence, and the transmission of findings. These are the tools of the teacher-researcher. They are not the tools of implementation. A PhD in public administration trains someone to frame research questions, construct valid comparisons, test hypotheses, and assess policy outcomes with greater rigour than a bachelor’s or diploma. It does not train them to run municipal water systems, enforce by-laws against illegal connections, negotiate tender processes without capture, or convert diagnostic insight into sustained operational capacity on the ground. Those require different skills, different experience, and different institutional authority. Treating the research skills as a substitute for that operational competence is a category error. The degree remains a teaching and knowledge-production credential. Claiming it confers special legitimacy to solve Alexandra or Khayelitsha confuses the skills the institution was designed to certify with the skills the problems actually demand.

Money is the equivalent of sex to us men. 🌚 If it’s too early to have sex, it’s too early to ask for money. The same way you fear we want to use you for your body, we fear being used for our pockets. We have absolutely no problem spending money on a woman we genuinely want to spoil. But there’s a difference between giving because we want to and being expected to give before we’ve even built a connection. Reciprocity goes both ways. 🧑🏽‍🦽😂
Bafazi where do you guys find men that give you money? I got ghosted again for jokingly asking for Mighty Bucket for one 😭 R79 ranta?????
