Now he knows how the schoolteachers of Texas feel.
I’m not a fan of prediction markets in their current form, but it’s gotta suck being Ken Paxton and waking up every day to see people heavily betting hundreds of millions of dollars against you.

ICYMI, another paid MQS shill is on board for #TimeForVance plus is in full cope mode re Texas turnout.
Since food critic Bud states opinions with no basis in reality, then turns off comments in what I can only assume is an act of cowardice, allow me to set the record straight in GOP performance in Parker County. Parker County is currently at 24.8% turnout, up from 18% at this time in 2022, and total in person votes are up 61% over the same period. With that increase, through the first week of early voting, 62% of Parker County votes are by people with only GOP primary history. 11% are people with only Dem primary history. 19% are people with only general election history. When comparing this historically, Parker County outperforms the state by more than 10% on average. In 2024, we set a county record at 71.57% turnout, securing more than 75k votes for a President Trump and ranking us #2 among the 50 largest counties in the state. We’re currently ranked 9th among the 50 largest counties, and when you consider that Election Day turnout favors Republicans, we’re on pace to set another record for mid-term turnout this year. We look forward to Vice President @JDVance helping get us across that finish line.

Right. Because real Texans make decisions for their own families based on what other people think.
If any GOP voters in Texas, do not vote in the 2026 election elections or they choose not to vote for Ken Paxton they will probably be the most hated people in the state for the next six years!!! Ask yourself if you want to be responsible for letting TEXAS go Blue?

My dude, plenty of Texas politicians are/were unfaithful but still do/did their job. They didn’t use MILLIONS OF DOLLARS of TAXPAYER FUNDS to do it. Xfluencers refusing to acknowledge the difference is one of the things that is gonna take out MAGA in a week.
PART 3 of Setting the Record Straight on @KenPaxtonTX “If Ken Paxton couldn’t honor his marriage vows, how can we trust him to honor his oath of office?” Here’s what’s ironic… Some of you aren’t even Christians, yet you’re suddenly invoking the sanctity of marriage as a moral absolute. Okay… based on WHAT? An objective moral law you’re prepared to defend consistently? Or just “muh preferences” because you already don’t like the guy? Those of us who are Christians recognize that adultery is sin. I’m not defending it, excusing it, or pretending it doesn’t matter. But let’s examine the logic that Paxton can’t be trusted to do his job for a second… Saying a man can’t be trusted to honor his oath of office because he cheated on his wife is like saying a surgeon who commits adultery can’t be trusted to save your life on the operating table. Think about how absurd that is. Does breaking one commitment automatically prove someone will violate another? Of course not. And here’s something interesting… Angela Paxton filed for divorce citing adultery. Yet she’s publicly encouraged Texans to support the Republican ticket, which includes Ken Paxton. That doesn’t mean they’ve reconciled or that she’s excused his conduct. But it DOES illustrate that personal and political judgments aren’t necessarily the same thing. And despite Paxton’s personal failings, we still have an established record of what he’s actually accomplished in office. His office secured BILLIONS in privacy settlements against Meta and Google, prosecuted human traffickers and child predators, and fought numerous legal battles on behalf of Texas. That’s an actual record. One that includes accomplishments AND controversies. And no… his accomplishments don’t erase his failures… But his failures don’t erase those accomplishments. That’s why I’ve said from the beginning that we should evaluate the entire record… Not reduce a man’s entire public service to one aspect of this personal life. As Christians, we understand that ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We’re imperfect people voting for imperfect people. And here’s something else I’ve noticed… People have a bad habit of judging others by their ACTIONS while judging themselves by their INTENTIONS. When we screw up, there’s always an explanation… But when someone else does, suddenly that failure defines their entire character. A vote isn’t a valentine. If you believe Paxton violated his constitutional oath, then examine his conduct in office and make that argument. But don’t pretend his marital infidelity automatically proves he can’t fulfill his responsibilities as a public official. That’s an assumption… Not a conclusion established by evidence.

Hard hard cope here. Turnout being down in El Paso County on Day 8 by that relatively small amount means absolutely nothing when you look at the overperformance in Harris/Bexar/Dallas rn.
I am looking like I’m going to be right on the money about El Paso County. Formulas and models are great but basic arithmetic will carry the field all day. Beto had a special power play in getting 98% or presidential turnout in his home county and beating Cruz by 50 points. That was a margin of almost exactly 100,000. El Paso threw out just 13,000 votes this weekend. They are at about 95-96k when they were at 250k in 2024. I am not confident they will hit 200k. If that’s where they settle, and Talarico gets it 65/35 (which may be too generous since Trump got 42), then he wins a margin of 60,000. That’s 40,000 short right there in one major metro of just being equal to Beto facing the other 253 counties. That will need to be made up elsewhere and if I had to guess, 40k margin saved for Paxton compensates for the likely backside in Collin, Williamson, and perhaps even Hays altogether. Catch my drift?

I’m not often aligned with Naomi on policy (she’s hard right and I’m a centrist) but I definitely agree with this. If Rep. Isaac can’t handle constituent dialogue, maybe she needs to give the #txlege seat back to her husband.
NOT VOTING FOR THIS! An elected official blocking constituents from every single social media account because she can’t accept truth. I know of others that aren’t voting for her either. We know the real Carrie.

So far in Texas early voting: women 2,367,464 ballots, men 2,001,457. That's 366,000 fewer men. 7 million registered Texas men haven't voted yet, and Texans 25 to 34 are at 12.9%. Fellas, you've got until Friday. Texas can't afford to hand the keys to a Marxist.

For those who don’t follow Texas politics that closely. This is our rather goofy Agricultural Commissioner incumbent who is using his office to issue official communications calling out Gov Greg Abbott for his undisclosed communications with Elon Musk (that Abbott is fighting in court to try and hide) and potential corruption. These communications likely include selling Boca Chica Texas State Park to SpaceX which Greg reportedly postponed until after the election in November. Abbott endorsed against Sid Miller in the primary as Sid Miller has been a vocal critic of data centers. Albeit Sid has had some scandals of his own.
The @TexasDeptofAg just sent out this opinion piece by @MillerForTexas to its email list: documentcloud.org/documents/… #txlege

this attitude is why MAGA is about to learn some lessons The notion that “local officials should put party cohesion” above anything else is deeply flawed and undemocratic. Texas deserves better.
I am stunned—and frankly appalled—that Fort Worth’s self-described “Republican” mayor, Mattie Parker, is openly refusing to vote a straight Republican ticket and is actively endorsing Democrats in critical statewide races just days before the election. Tarrant County is not just another Texas county. It is the last large, urban bastion of conservative governance in the state—a place where families, businesses, and institutions have thrived precisely because Republican leadership has held the line. For the mayor of its largest city to split her ticket, withhold support from Mayes Middleton for Attorney General, and campaign against Bo French for Railroad Commissioner is more than a personal choice. It is a public fracture of the Republican coalition at the exact moment we can least afford it. When a sitting “Republican” mayor uses her platform this close to Election Day to elevate Democrats and undermine her own party’s nominees, she makes it harder—not easier—for Tarrant County to remain conservative. Turnout and margins in this county have never been automatic. Every high-profile defection gives cover to soft Republicans and independents who might otherwise hold the line. That is not leadership; it is political self-interest dressed up as moderation. My great-uncle, the late Judge Kenneth C. Whitely, served Tarrant County for 53 years. He understood that local institutions stay strong only when elected officials put principle and party cohesion ahead of personal branding. He would have called this exactly what it is: a reckless blunder that risks turning a reliably conservative county purple or blue. Those of us who still believe Tarrant County must remain a conservative stronghold at all costs have an obligation to say so plainly. Voters who value limited government, energy independence, and Republican majorities should take note of who is willing to stand with the ticket and who is not. Mattie Parker has made her choice clear. The rest of us should make ours. 📍 (Additionly) context worth noting: her husband was recently listed in ethics filings as connected to data-center industry lobbying, requiring the mayor to address potential conflicts—another example of priorities that appear misaligned with the conservative voters who once trusted her.)

MAGA’s glaring lack of self-awareness combined with its immovable and terminal case of Dunning-Kruger ensure that they will always be the kind of opponent that Sun Tzu could only dream about.

I was Hegar's deputy communications director in 2020. Born and raised in San Antonio, went to UT Austin where I got a government degree, worked in Austin politics in college. Evan Barker is absolutely not more qualified than 99% of journalists who cover the state.
I’m more qualified than 99% of “journalists” and pundits to make predictions about Texas politics. I’ve worked on a winning US House race in Texas (Jasmine Crockett) and was head of fundraising on a US Senate race there as well. @cd_hooks needs to issue a correction
