Somerset People Robbed Of Democracy By Westminster - But How Many of Them Really Care?
"It is no April Fool's joke. The robbery of democracy is deadly serious. And the people of Somerset will suffer..."

DAVID WARBURTON RESIGNS! Somerset Independents Led the Way While Others Followed

Do you think that they believe their own hype? 😝
Good morning, Somerset! ☀
As the sun rises on a brand new day, you're also waking up with a new #SomersetCouncil! 👋
We can't wait to build you a fairer, greener, resilient, more flourishing Somerset that cares for the most vulnerable and listens to you.

If you had listened we would not have a united somerset under the control of one council. RIP Sedgemoor and the rest of the Somerset.

That's great, but your website isn't working and I'm trying to pay my Council Tax.
The councillors need to be replaced with independent ones, before anything begins to change. That is the responsibility of the people of Bristol to being about.
A bit tetchy at the start of today's Committee Model Working Group

First, @LabourBristol @nicolabeech objected to @bristolgreen @David_on_a_bike & Martin Fodor asking Public Forum questions (they are allowed)
Then, @BristolEaSteve had a dig at journalists

There seem to be councillors in Bristol City Council who haven't paid their council tax but whose name(s) cannot be released.
"the circumstances in this case are compelling enough that to disclose the information would be unfair and unlawful." somerinds.org/2022/07/bristo…
We were formed to hold elected representatives to account. It is just as well as other media outlets seem keen to forget or even defend them.

All of it! Tis indeed a big patch, no real hard boundaries but roughly Wiltshire, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall
Another of our interviewees. She is still fighting, despite the dreadful treatment of her by Bristol councillors and their supporters. Keep it up Danica.
The whole article is trying to use this ‘lack of parks’ to argue that that’s why our nature spaces need to be developed. Here’s the full post. It’s disgusting to claim building over our nature rich sites will help our health. We don’t need your help thanks lda-design.co.uk/from-the-lo…
Elections coming soon.
Campaigner Andrew Pope @APoliticalPope interviewed Joanna Booth @stillawake, a Bristol-based freelance journalist. The result was lively, provocative and revealing. Thank you Joanna.

Thank you for the interview, @APoliticalPope --
The costs to journalists who challenge authority can be severe and personal:
"I get called a racist or a harasser, a conspiracy theorist (mentally ill), a waster of public money and time, and obsessed."

A member of Truss's own cabinet tells me Truss's and Kwarteng's governance is so dire that some Tory MPs would vote against her in a confidence vote, preferring even a general election that cost them their seats to the current economic chaos
