“USMLE IS NOT OUR MODEL.”
These words from the Hon’ble Supreme Court today in the case filed by our legal team should make NBEMS seriously reconsider its position on examination transparency.
When NBEMS attempted to justify its reluctance to release NEET-PG question papers and answer keys by citing USMLE, the Court firmly questioned that argument.
The Bench has now directed NBEMS to submit an affidavit explaining why it refuses to release question papers.
Let us ask a simple question: If lakhs of doctors can be examined, ranked and have their careers decided by an examination, why can’t they be allowed to see the questions they were evaluated on ?
You cannot demand blind faith from aspirants while denying them transparency.

I gracefully admit that MBBS graduates need to improve their clinical diagnosis & skills.
During internship, I learned blood sampling, Ryle’s tube insertion, catheterisation & basic suturing.
The workload was so overwhelming that I never got the chance to learn procedures like central line insertion or intubation.
We need better hands-on training, not just a degree.

Today we find large number of young people getting into extreme sport. Even if you are very young, 17 or 18, if you are going for extreme sport, you must go for a checkup... The best way to know what the cardiac problems are to the test done. As I said, simple tests which can be done within one hour, once a year. If the CT scan is normal, for the next seven years or ten years you don't need to bother..."

I learnt basic Patient care from a nurse ,
I learnt humility from a nurse
I learnt motherly care and brotherly strength from a nurse
In return all they expect is Respect and compassion towards their work and equality stature thats the basic we should do and be thankful for their support .

Medical Residents in India are pushed through 36-48 hour shifts as if exhaustion is a qualification, not abuse.
They are humiliated by senior Drs, shouted at by staff nurses, assaulted by patients, buried under paperwork, and often treated as disposable labour rather than doctors in training.
Many female residents still have no access to safe, clean toilets with working latches, running water, or dignity, even during menstruation.
They buy coffee and snacks for faculty from their own pockets, absorb toxicity in silence, and often have nowhere safe to report harassment, assault, or exploitation.
Internship and residency in India have become a system where suffering is institutionalised and called training.
A country that trusts residents with human lives still refuses to protect theirs.
Healing a nation should not require breaking its youngest doctors.
