I’ve now fully pivoted to simply watching and evaluating the young players on this roster. Everything else will fall where it may this season. Definitely more fun this way tho because at least I can see real change even if it’s not exactly how I may want it.
My point against retaining Steichen is this. If he’s retained after this season how much fair leeway would he then be granted in a rebuild? The colts assuredly won’t be good in 27, and he’d have then a presumed rookie QB starting. in 28. What then?
He doesn’t fit the timeline for an organizational reset. And he’d be at the end of his contract in the next couple years. How do you justify keeping him with a fair evaluation if the colts haven’t made the playoffs? You’re delaying the inevitable imo.
I know she’s going for them views right now so it’s possible it wouldn’t matter, but you’d think if there was no chance he was getting traded they’d have been given that assurance already by ownership.
