A very rare @metoffice red warning of snow has been issued for Central Belt of Scotland from this afternoon into tomorrow morning.
20-30cm of snow expected widely, with 40cm locally.
Such a warning means extreme weather is expected, widespread disruption and risk to life.

The dew point has been below freezing in Reading (per @UniRdg_Met fieldsite obs) since early on Thursday Feb 22! It's carried on decreasing since then and approached -10°C as the #BeastFromTheEast arrived. Very dry air!
