I am an advocate for the Drastic Reduction of Light Pollution. Real MEN are not afraid of a little darkness. Choose 2700K or Less

For 25 years, Flagstaff has worked to keep its night skies clear enough for people to see the stars, planets and other celestial wonders, even from downtown.

YOUR CITY IS STEALING THE NIGHT FROM YOU. Walking outside after dark or not blocking your windows in almost any modern city blasts enough artificial light into your eyes to disrupt your nightly melatonin spike. Melatonin repairs mitochondria, resets every cell clock in your body and counteracts the damage of the day. Look at the chart. Sunlight can blast you with 120,000 lux so you stay alert and awake. After sunset the light lux collapses. A full moon reflects usually less than 0.3 lux onto Earth. That dim glow lets your melatonin flow free. But your melatonin starts shutting down major flow at under 10 lux of light. Streetlights and city skyglow blow past that number every night. City citizens have not seen a real dark night in years. Their circadian rhythm gets smashed on a loop over and over again. Everyone obsesses over food and workouts. What healthy smoothies they got today. Their orange theory group class. None of them mention or care about the nighlty glow outside their window that does more bad health damage than a junk meal or a missed workout session. Bring back the dark. Use sleep masks, blue blockers and black out curtains if you must. See the link in my bio for my top picks.

Science is waking up to the fact that we collectively made decisions on things from an economic standpoint and forgot to check the health concerns. Health > Wealth

🚨 248 SMART SCIENTISTS NOW DEMAND WARNING LABELS ON BLUE SPIKED LED LIGHTS 248 leading scientists specializing in light and circadian rhythm mostly agree that blue spiked LED lights should carry a label like cigarettes: “Maybe harmful if used at night.”(79.1% agreement) The timing, duration, intensity and spectral composition of the light hitting your eyes has a controlling effect on your circadian clocks and every rhythmic process in your body. But less than 0.5% of lights sold today change intensity or spectrum between day and night. These smart scientists linked chronic circadian disruption from nighttime blue spiked light to: Obesity & diabetes Heart disease Reproductive & psychiatric disorders Endocrine sensitive cancers (breast & prostate) Nighttime light that is bright and blue spiked is a daily biological assault your body dont want. Dim the blues after sunset. Protect your clocks. HOW MANY BREAST CANCER DOCTORS DO YOU THINK HAVE EVER TOLD THEIR PATIENTS ABOUT THIS? Even dim light at night can make breast cancer completely resistant to tamoxifen. The study below found that light exposure suppresses melatonin (we all know that), but because of that, one of the most widely used breast cancer drugs stops working. However what happens in total darkness (or maybe with melatonin supplementation)? Tumors go DOWN. Your bedroom light and ipad are working against the cancer medicine. If the patient cant get darkness at night then the Oncologist also needs to prescribe... Blackout curtains. Sleep mask. Blue Blockers. Night coded night lights. See all my favorites in the reply below. Darkness at night is part of breast cancer therapy.

🚨Paul Saladino warns LED exposure could be a health crisis on the scale of asbestos: "These lights quite possibly are killing you." "When we use LED light on mice, we can watch the mitochondria generally go downhill." "We can't see the flickering, but our brain, our eyes, and our nervous system can perceive it, and it's very activating to our nervous system in a negative way. "It can cause eye strain, headaches, migraines, anxiety." "You'll see a slow-motion video of this and it really drives it home how crazy it is that we're sitting under these lights all day long." @paulsaladinomd @hubermanlab

Incandescents are the healthiest lights you can buy, end of story. Rich in warm and biologically important near infrared light. No pulsed flicker. Purely analog. I am building a stock pile before they are actually impossible to find
LEDs are “the seed oils of lighting.”

They say “We put a new street light outside your house! Yay!” I say “You just made everyone here more susceptible to all forms of cancer, metabolic dysfunction, insulin resistance, melatonin depletion, and overall circadian disruption. Including the animals and plants. Boo.” I shouldn’t be able to snap a pic at night this clear without any flash. I need an LED sniper.
