It's really strange how different a 1-1 record feels depending on the sequence of events. Walk with me...
Out of their last 2 games, the Mavs won against the Rockets and lost against the Kings. Vibes are pretty bad and back to "told you so, not a serious team, they suck."
Now, if the two games were in a reverse order (but same results), vibes would be entirely different. Lose against the Kings first (terrible, of course) but then follow it up with a win against the Rockets... and all of a sudden it's like "told you so, this team is showing heart and morale, they are good."
Same 1-1 record, totally different perception.
Maybe instead of shouting doom and gloom after the loss to the Kings, and also proclaiming Cooper a top 3 MVP candidate after the Rockets game... maybe just take a step back and realize that the sequence of events has an incredibly big impact on how we perceive things.
There's the "yeah, great" 1-1 record and then there's the "omg, we suck" 1-1 record.
Mavs will be fine.
Are the Mavs really going to lose against the only winless team (0-6 Kings) after having beating the only unbeaten team (5-0 Rockets) just two days ago?
I did not have the Grizzlies on my bingo card, that's for sure. Also, Lakers leading in fast break points feels a bit funny.
Which team stat stands out to you?
