"[B]y the Spirit of Christ in sanctification we are made kings to rule over our own lusts to some degree. We are not kings to be freed altogether from them, but kings to strive against them. It is a liberty to fight, and in fighting to overcome at last."- Richard Sibbes

They learned “reckless foreign wars is bad.” This sounds nice but they theoretically, learned that from Iraq. So did they learn anything? If we’re being generous, “everything is second to American pocketbooks.” Ofc knowing that theoretically and not changing what you’re doing doesn’t help

The Democrats actually have far right blood and soil policies. They just aren’t for Americans.

CP is one of my favorite mutuals, and I agree that we in the public don't have access to the intel that the President has. But America wins wars by mobilizing the American people, and that means telling them why. In the absence of that, we have to assume there was no good reason.
RE: The Iran War & the Midterms
We all agree that Trump knew the Iran War would tank the midterms. Does anyone disagree? I did not think so.
So, since we all stipulate to the above fact, that leaves really only two possible explanations for the war:
1. Trump thought indulging a bunch of neocon advisors on a wholly questionable useless, endless war was worth tanking the midterms.
-or-
2. The intel that Trump had at hand was so compelling that it represented an existential threat to humanity and he had to choose between saving humanity and winning the midterms. (Remember, the Iranian mullahs want nukes so they can use them to precipitate Armageddon and the Twelfth Imam will then miraculously arise from a well in Qom and forcibly unify what is left of humanity under the banner of Shia Islam. These are not rational people.)
I voted for Trump three times because I trust his judgment. I don't think his judgment turned to crap overnight.
I believe history will eventually record that Donald Trump made one of the bravest, most selfless decisions that any world leader has ever made, and history will also record the people who think the accurate narrative is actually #1 above as being complete doofuses.

Look, all the wordceling about how we won the Iran war didn't work. People are not convinced or happy.
Either turbonuke Iran or wind it down. "Nuke 'em, bribe 'em, or leave 'em the hell alone," as the War Nerd put it. Prolonged conflicts are politically ruinous and ineffective.
.@POTUS: "We've made a lot of progress with Iran... In Russia-Ukraine, they lose 25,000 people a month. We haven't lost anybody in seven months, so I don't think that's a war. We have total control. But, we're dealing with the Iranians; we'll see how that all works out."

The sort of narratives we are now being subjected to were easily predictable.
They were wrong a year ago when I wrote this, and they’re wrong today.
None of the economic, political, or spiritual forces that produced MAGA in the first place have vanished from the world. They existed long before Trump gave them a personal vessel, and they will continue to exist long after he leaves office.
And no election wipeout will ever transform technocratic gay race communism into a long term viable governing philosophy, no matter how many euphemistic rebrands it goes through or how much obfuscation its adherents engage in.
The ideological solutions the Left offers are all dead ends. There is no agenda on earth which will ever compel the various peoples of the world to live in harmony among one another within the same polity. You cannot force existentially opposed conceptions of the good to coexist within the same nation forever.
Try as they might, they can only delay the hour of reckoning.
The narrative 1 year from now is going to be that:
>MAGA, or rather the ideas which formed it, is dead.
>The American people are craving some return to technocratic Gay Race Communism after it was repackaged as "big tent Abundance Liberalism".
>History has ended. Again.
All three of these conclusions are catastrophically wrong, but they will only be falsified on a timescale that social media has no patience for. And so the prevailing narrative on this site between election day and Christmas will be that it's over.
Texas has more electoral votes, but this is an exchange I'd gladly make if things were so clean.
