ALT 🍄 A Psychedelic Compound May Affect Aging Scientists found that **psilocin**, the active compound produced from psilocybin, helped human cells live **up to 57% longer** in laboratory experiments. The treated cells also showed less oxidative stress, fewer aging markers and better telomere preservation. In an experiment with older female mice, **80% of psilocybin-treated mice survived**, compared with 50% of untreated mice. But this is still early research. It does **not** show that psilocybin extends human lifespan. The intriguing question is whether these cellular effects could eventually lead to new ways of studying aging. Source: Kato et al.
