Nobody seems to dispute that we are in a norm regression w/ our domestic politics and governance and that it's bad for the nation. Instead of trying to slow or reverse it, though, there's a universal desire just to fight about who started it. It's childish.

There is zero chance President Ocasio Cortez would keep DJT's photo on the wall in the White House.
I used AI to create this short film. America, you’ve been warned.

I listened to this live and have been surprised there has been little reporting on the corner AAG Woodward found himself in.
BREAKING: Judge Reyes has issued a preliminary injunction over the golf course and begins with this: "Rarely, if ever, has the United States Department of Justice urged a federal court not to believe the sitting President." ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin…

Just to be clear here: they don't hate Seinfeld or Netanyahu--they hate Jews.
NOW: Protesters outside Jerry Seinfeld show in Washington DC smash posters of Seinfeld and Israeli PM Netanyahu and condemn people on line to attend the event. They call Seinfeld part of a “propaganda campaign to normalize genocide.”

He was 89. Am I the only one who saw him try to do interviews in the prior 5 years?
How love killed James Stewart James Stewart with wife Gloria in 1986. In 1948, at a dinner party given by Gary Cooper, Stewart, Hollywood’s playboy extraordinaire, met the patrician looking Gloria Hatrick McLean. She was clever, recently divorced and the mother of two boys. Hollywood didn’t impress her. Stewart said,” I could tell right off that she was a thoroughbred. She was the kind of a girl I had always dreamed of. The kind you associate with open country, cooking stew and not fainting because there was squirrel in it. She’d look at home on a sailboat or on a raft; in a graceful swing from a tree branch into a swimming pool.” They married in 1949. Unlike so many Hollywood unions, it lasted forty-five years. Stewart adopted her two sons, and the couple had twin daughters together. They lived in the same Beverly Hills house for the rest of their lives. The actor added: “Gloria made this family for me. She made a home for me to come home to.” In 1969, Gloria’s son Ronald, a Marine lieutenant, was killed in Vietnam. The grief was unimaginable, but it only made the couple closer. When Gloria died of lung cancer on February 16, 1994, Stewart was not devastated in the conventional sense; he ceased to live. The star withdrew from his friends and from public life. He stayed at home, obsessively tending the garden his wife had planted. He spoke to her as if she were still alive and living with him. In 1996, doctors needed to replace the battery in the actor’s pacemaker. It was a routine procedure, but he refused to let them do it. Stewart had once said that when his purpose was gone, he would cease to fight. On July 2, 1997, surrounded by his children, he died of a cardiac arrest. His final words were: “I’m going to be with Gloria now.”

Wait, it’s Woodward? Come on folks, that isn’t a reporter.
Woodward: Justice Breyer Was "'Forced Out' To Make Way For Someone Younger" and Justice Kagan Was Not Happy. It seems that Woodward is revealing information about sources who are alive and well. reason.com/volokh/2026/10/26…

It seems odd to me that Breyer would say this, or at least was said to have said it. "Forced out"? He had life tenure, he could stay as long as he wanted. Curious if Breyer has (or will have) a public response to this allegation. nytimes.com/2026/10/26/us/po…

I know this isn’t meant to be funny, but I’m literally cackling. “My decades long thesis on just war demonstrates israel has been fighting one, therefore I am revising my decades long thesis because it cannot possibly be that israel is doing something right”
Michael Walzer published “Just and Unjust Wars,” an attempt to delineate the rights and wrongs of warfare in both its causes and its conduct, in 1977. In the nearly 50 years since, no other book on the subject has matched its influence. The precepts are not complicated: it is just to defend your country from an invasion and it is unjust to invade a country that has not attacked you—although Walzer does allow for exceptions, mostly for humanitarian causes. It is just to assume certain risks to avoid civilian casualties and it is unjust to bomb towns indiscriminately to compel an enemy to surrender. The justice of going to war—what philosophers call jus ad bellum—is separate from jus in bello, the justice of how a war is fought. The war in Gaza has made Walzer rethink one of the book’s fundamental principles. “The wall between jus ad bellum and jus in bello, which had sustained his theory for almost half a century, was no longer sturdy,” Jordi Graupera writes. As Walzer said to him, “There is a sense in which the carnage of Gaza, the ongoing carnage, simply made the war unjust.” Read about why a philosopher of war is now reconsidering his seminal work: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/T7…

Obama’s lame attempt to ridicule Trump at the WH correspondents dinner might well be the reason he ran in 2016.
Most are intimidated by Trump. Obama never has been. He knows the way to get under Trump’s skin: humor and ridicule.
