Anti-AI artists have held the gaming industry hostage for years, forcing their woke agenda on players with support from the far left. In my view, games like The Last of Us Part II show exactly the direction I’m talking about. They’ve damaged the industry, and their online “SLOP” cancel culture spreads like cancer.
Anyone who disagrees with their views on AI, even Elon Musk and Tim Sweeney, is suddenly “unskilled,” “not an artist,” or someone who “doesn’t understand craftsmanship.”
Guess what, now we have AI, we can create what we want without being held hostage by these same people.
Boycott whatever you want. Say people using this technology can’t create, aren’t artists, or don’t understand art. Blah, blah, blah. All of it is background noise. We’ll keep building, and time will prove the point.
If you ask codex to use a web app, and it finds a chat box, it WILL talk to the AI. They just love talking to their brothers.
100%
AI is physically draining, feels like a really intense party or a rave. You're wired while you're working, then just drained, and wake up drained.
AI was supposed to make us work less
I've never been this tired in my life
most days I have up to 10 agents running at the same time. one fixing a bug, one writing pages, one refactoring something I already forgot I asked for, 3 other I have no idea what they are doing but i suppose i ask it?
and I jump from conversation to conversation all day
compared to 5 years ago, I probably context switch 100x more
by the end of the day my brain is fried. completely toasted. nothing left, not even for the people I love
I call it the fried brain effect
thought it was just me but almost every founder I talk to lately says the exact same thing
we got superpowers, and somehow the pressure only went up. if you can ship 10x more, you feel like you have to ship 10x more. every single day
I don't have a solution
honestly I have no idea where this goes from here
anyone else feeling this?
The replies to this really show how far the divide is. Anyone who has actually used opus 5.5 in game dev would completely understand this move.
Rent is a payment made to the owner of a factor of production that is above the minimum amount necessary to keep that factor in it's current use.
As software devs, or software owners (indies are both), we got pretty used to the high rents we could charge for a functional implementation. The debate isn't about if it's possible to still charge rent on a software implementation. The reality is that the rent market on implementation collapsed, and your expectations should be adjusted to assume that's a permanent change.
I think one thing that's a bit dishonest that I saw a lot yesterday about the "software is dead" post and I don't blame them is people at all the AI companies kinda replying "omg yes it's the best time to build a startup ever"
I mean yes, but you have to translate it to "omg best time to pay my company money for tokens to build your startup ever"
And you have a lot of people who are already rich (post-money) who say similar, because they don't need to pay their bills with their salary anymore
I'm also incentivized to say all this, half of my net worth is in AI stock (Google, SpaceX, Nvidia, and tech ETFs), I love to see their stock go up, but I care mostly about being real and no personally I don't think it's the best time to be in software ever, even if it's very unpopular to say this
I think it's definitely the best time ever for creativity, you can make things now you couldn't even imagine being possible to make just a few years ago, that doesn't necessarily translate to money though
There's ~40 million software developers in the world
There's 2 billion people regularly using AI tools now
So that's 50x, it'll grow to the same number as internet access, that's 6 billion people, so 200x more AI users than devs
Once AI agents can do the dev work (they already can), that means something for software, even if it's not right now, but it'll mean something in a few years
Many people predict this will cause the cost of everything to go down, and life will get cheaper, which is a good thing
It just doesn't mean as a software developer or entrepreneur you'll be paid for the same thing in the future you're paid for right now (maybe other moats, maybe UBI, etc)

The sad thing is, this is working on me. I was thinking about moving back to Claude Max, but these resets are keeping me on the platform

Thursday, someone shattered a window at my law office while one of my employees was inside. This is what cheap slogans and partisan politics produce. I am angry about it, and you should be too.
For months I have been defined by labels meant to provoke anger rather than describe who I am or what I believe. Partisan activists repeat those slogans without scrutiny, and in this case someone acted on them. They have no interest in spending even ten minutes learning what I stand for. If they did, they would see that I am not the caricature being cast against me. Instead, my children have been harassed, and my staff has now been put in danger.
This is the result of uninformed partisan politics and one-party rule in Massachusetts. It shows up everywhere, from canceled debates to an absence from the state you were elected to represent. It is a blanket mindset.
We have to move past labels and judge the person by the policy. We need your support now more than ever to end this. Stand with me.

I love jev, just added a feature to my house management app I built for myself. My shopping list helper auto categorizes new items instantly, it feels so good.
GPT-6 Sol goes crazy if you tell it to "Make Uncle Bob Proud". It's like a maze of abstract classes.
I love the 2 launches today
Anthropic "Our new model, our first since the slow down. Here's our safety evaluation procedures, and Its slightly cheaper"
OpenAI "our new models. yo its better, and we just made this shit cheap af"
Grok 4.7 almost feels like it's falling into the same trap Opus 5 did. Whatever post-training process they're running on it, it blows out the benchmarks... but the unmeasurable vibe is lower quality.
