Wicked For Good literally ends with Glinda solving racism in a single afternoon, giving the audience the opportunity way to digest safe overly happy ending, and making the only real consequence for Glinda’s actions being that she loses Fiyero and Elphaba.

Wicked the book and musical are meant to be cautionary tales and the movie is just a fantasy action film where they’re afraid to make you uncomfortable

well yeah that’s exactly the point, and they shied away from it to keep everyone comfortable. wicked shouldn’t be a comfortable, happy go lucky movie though and that’s the entire issue!

Glinda is never held accountable for the nasty shit she does. they wanted to make her a Disney Princess when that’s not who she is. they were too scared of making her unlikeable that the movie frames her as a victim of the very system she is responsible for upholding.

Apparently ending racism was very easy in Oz according to the movies ending, apparently Elphaba just hadn’t been trying hard enough.

i always thought the weakest part of wicked for good was glinda’s arc 💀 they minimized the tragedy and the cautionary aspect of it to reward her with magic for undoing fascism in an afternoon 😭
