BC Conservatives just surpassed the number of votes we got in the 2024 election. Only the NDP lost overall votes.

Across Sweden, private operators are constantly scrutinized, and there is a perennial debate as to whether their profits should be reinvested back into the system. Yet the core model has endured over three decades, and it has outlasted liberal and conservative governments. Roughly 30 per cent of the country’s high-school students now go to a privately run school, and in Stockholm, one of the city’s largest hospitals, Saint Goran, has been privately run since 1999. It is all very relevant for Canada. Persistent provincial deficits have starved many public schools of resources, particularly when it comes to special education. The country’s health care system, meanwhile, seems close to breaking and it’ll likely only get worse. Baby boomers are aging, which means health care costs will soar. They’ve already jumped to around 12 per cent of Canada’s gross domestic product, up from 6.5 per cent in 1975, according to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. Yet whenever private models are mentioned in Canada, the backlash is swift. This is the country of Tommy Douglas, a land where health is a human right. Canadians also love to point at the United States and say no one in their right mind would want what they’ve got. The U.S. vastly outspends the OECD average on health care per person, but has one of the lowest life expectancies. Jens Eriksson, the head of the private health care network, sounds quite Canadian himself. “We don’t want the entire system to be private,” he says during a chat in Stockholm. “We want the foundation to be publicly run and publicly owned and publicly governed.” If Sweden, a socialist cousin, can have that, why can’t Canada? theglobeandmail.com/business…

It is no wonder that @Hamilton4Kansas won in Kansas with this level of charisma and political savviness.
Watch for a speech like you've never seen before. There's no place like Kansas, and with his historic win, this pastor is headed to Washington to fight for it. Congratulations Senator-elect Adam Hamilton.

To my fellow Republicans who’ve had enough: Hi, I’m Brittany. You’re not alone, and there’s a place for you at @Principles_1st. You don’t have to give up your convictions to want better leadership. Not quite there yet? No worries. My DMs are open — I’d love to hear from you.

Congrats @SteveKornacki this is very well deserved! I’ve been watching your analysis for years and started watching the Kornacki cam during the TN-7 special election! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
How about a hand for Sean Clark, Adam Noboa, Liz Johnstone and Melissa Mack. The brains behind the livestream. These guys took the idea and made it real, from TN-7 to Election Night this week and 22 primaries in between. (Josh Braun too, who is getting well earned Zzz’s!)

I don’t think you could find 2 people who have more consistently called out people who misrepresent our Christian faith than me and Sara Haines. We regularly call out Christian Nationalism & people who hide behind Christianity to justify extremism. Notably, Sara Haines challenged the sitting Vice President on the disconnect between his faith & actions to his face on air.
"Do you believe that leaders have a responsibility to challenge the extremist views within their own religion?" Sara Haines's question to the first Muslim senator on The View today. When was the last time you saw Chuck Schumer asked to challenge extremist Jews, or Ted Cruz asked to challenge extremist Christians? This is what an Islamophobic double standard looks like.

Budget 2026 continues the federal government's past failures in increasing state involvement in the building of homes and thus the housing market. The answer is not to expand Build Canada Homes or, for that matter, CHMC, but to reduce regulations and enhance permit decisions

Character matters!
Becoming a mom has made me care even more about the character of our leaders. We can survive bad policy - the pendulum swings and our government can reverse it. Bad character in our leaders has a deeper, darker impact that’s harder to undo & ripples throughout society.

Political scientists love to say, don’t draw lessons from the Virginia governor’s race, and then every midterm it’s like huge lessons should’ve been drawn from the results in the Virginia governor’s race.

Unbelievable
Pennsylvania will have more Republican statewide office holders than Texas, Iowa, Ohio, Arizona and Georgia next year.

The midterm elections weren’t only a rejection of Republicans but a rejection of the extremes! Moderates on both sides can now revel in the fact that their pragmatic approaches won the day.

Wildly inappropriate. The last thing we need is to add more partisanship to the immigration process.
Video featuring PM @MarkCarney will be shown at citizenship ceremonies. Dept @CitImmCanada cautioned swearing-in, a legal requirement, should be nonpartisan. blacklocks.ca/pm-video-part-… #cdnpoli #cdnfoi #ATI

Republicans are blaming the Iran war and rising prices for this week's electoral shellacking. Fair enough. But the economic damage didn't begin with the war. It began with indiscriminate tariffs that amounted to a tax increase on American consumers.

Imagine being so threatened by @AbdulElSayed speaking Arabic that you turn your racism into content. Right-wing grifters have made fear of anyone who looks or sounds different their entire personality. Embarrassing.

In the bluest state in the country, in the bluest tsunami you can imagine, Phil Scott still won. By being a pro-growth moderate. Aided by Democrats picking a candidate who is an anti-growth radical. I am BEGGING both parties to learn from this!

I want to thank Vermonters for once again putting their trust in me to serve as your Governor. With a supermajority in the Legislature, we’ll enter the next two years with some significant differences in our views and approach. But, I want Vermonters to know my commitment to you has not changed. I invite legislators of all parties to join me in finding ways to work together to make meaningful progress for Vermonters. We don’t have to abandon our principles to work together. I will continue working to make Vermont more affordable, grow our economy, strengthen our communities, and create more opportunities for our kids. I’ll continue insisting the math adds up and that we spend taxpayer dollars responsibly. As long as I have the privilege of serving as your Governor, I’ll continue doing what I believe is right for this state.
