🇬🇧 As a proud member of Restore Britain and a serving Kent County Councillor, I wholeheartedly endorse Rupert Lowe’s A Home Fit for Heroes policy. Having read the full 48-page document, I am particularly encouraged by the proposal to establish dedicated Veterans Officers through local councils. Drawing on my experience in local government, I believe this is a practical and achievable way of making a real difference to those who have served our country. I would very much welcome the opportunity to bring a motion before a forthcoming Kent County Council meeting to debate how we could build upon our existing Armed Forces Covenant arrangements and begin putting some of these proposals into practice here in Kent. What a wonderful opportunity to turn national policy into meaningful local action! A very special thank you to @_HenryBolton for the tremendous work he has put into developing this policy. As a veteran himself, Henry brings invaluable firsthand knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by former service personnel and their families. His dedication to this important work deserves enormous recognition. Thank you also to Rupert for championing such a comprehensive and thoughtful approach to veterans’ welfare. Our Armed Forces personnel have made extraordinary sacrifices in the service of our nation. They deserve to know that their country will continue to value and support them long after their military service ends.
