Check out my latest article: The PHP Vulnerability & Why Your Email List is Your Most Portable Asset

Embedded lending means loans offered inside the software a business already runs on.
Kanmon’s point: young businesses take what they can get. As they grow, they get better options. If the platform offers only one product, its best customers leave.
Their fix is more loan products thru 1 integration. They call it the shift from borrower acquisition to borrower retention.
Retention needs timing too. The platform already sees orders, invoices, and payments. A paid-off advance or a big purchase order is the moment for a “here’s what’s available now” note. Breadth only works if someone hears about it.
Do you use newsletters to stay in regular touch with your customers, referrers, or biggest fans?
You should and a workflow like the one I set up using Claude helps me do it every week.
Wanna know more? Just DM me and I can set this up for you too.

@sphere_labs September 15 notice is one of the most honest product change posts I've seen this year. From Oct 19, new individual customers must share where their money comes from before verification goes through.
Plain version: KYC checks who you are. Source of funds checks where your money comes from. Sphere's banking partners ask for it anyway. Missing it means activation and payments pause while the customer answers.
So Sphere moved the question up front, at signup. Smart. And the post tells developers exactly what to build.
The gap is the end user. Up to six new questions plus a bank statement upload, in the middle of signup.
Sphere's system marks unfinished sign-ups "incomplete." That's the trigger for a "you're one document away" note. Onboarding workflows can add lots of value here.
The metric behind it is attach rate. 1,000 salons use your booking software. 200 take payments through it. That's a 20% attach rate. The other 800 are revenue you already built for.
In that same post, Forward described pre-filling merchant applications and waiting to ask for bank details until the merchant is ready to get paid. That's smart onboarding.
The gap: their blog talks to the platform. Attach rate grows when handling the merchant who signed up and never switched on. A welcome note. A week-one nudge. A fee comparison after month one. That's where their own argument points. Different onboarding flows for different use rates.
Email crushes at this by the way, as does SMS push notifications
This week's #fintech #AI Newsletter, something different.
Not a sector, a role. Lifecycle Marketing. Roles at @blocks @Wise @getflex_hq and Atlas all asking the same thing.
Which message should go out based on which behavior? And who's directing the traffic here?
Here is this week's newsletter: fintechaimarketer.beehiiv.co…
That question is showing up in the job market too. Chime, @VaroBank , & @GreenlightCard are all hiring lifecycle & retention marketers this week, not just growth.
Owning the charter changes the marketing job. Renting it means chasing signups. Owning it means every dormant account is money you already paid for.
Full breakdown of all four roles, plus this week's AI skill for personalizing push notifications, is in this week's issue of The Fintech AI Marketer.

@IncreaseDev 's case study on @tryramp Treasury quotes Ramp's EVP of Engineering calling Increase "the obvious choice." Real credibility, Ramp evaluates infrastructure vendors constantly.
Extended FDIC insurance through a deposit placement network means a company spreads one large deposit across many partner banks in pieces under $250K each, staying fully insured as one account.
The case study is titled around the Ramp Treasury launch. The only hard number in it, $10B in annual payments, belongs to Ramp's older Bill Pay product.
Nothing quantified for Treasury itself, no deposit volume, no adoption number, for the actual product being announced.
The Bill Pay number proves the partnership works. The Treasury number is still missing.
#fintech firms, yes GTM is hard because there are so many areas to cover.
But my agent now takes 1 signal (hiring) and finds open roles, the contact, enrichment, and drafts email for my approval.
Just one signal. And I can do it for you too or train your team. Just DM me

@grasshopperbank became the first bank listed in @AnthropicAI 's MCP Directory. Unlike most AI feature announcements, they didn't just describe it, they showed it with a named customer.
MCP lets an AI assistant like Claude securely connect to a company's live data, here a bank account, through permissioned read only access, no password ever shared.
Michelle Hipwood, CFO at EnFi, is quoted by name: she asks Claude whether a payment cleared instead of checking multiple systems. Real proof.
But it's proof of the simplest claim. The same announcement also promises trend analysis, investor prep, anomaly detection, none with a named example yet.
One real customer proved the easy claim works. The harder ones are still just claims.

@Cypher_HQ_ founder wrote his own first-person post about why he sold to @NiumGlobal , his career at Coinbase and Amazon, his new role there. Raw & candid, rare for acquisition content.
Non-custodial wallet means the user holds their own private keys and controls their funds directly. That was Cypher's core expertise before the July deal.
Two months later, no follow-up on which of the 3 promised opportunities- cards, treasury, cross-border, actually shipped.
One customer, live on any of it, with real numbers, is what would turn the story into proof.
The founder's voice sold the vision. A customer would prove it.
