@AlastairWright I've got a few of these LPs, mostly with steam locomotives sounds But how about this one I discovered today? Recorded 1959, released 1966. #Sheffield

youtu.be/FPm79YGIiyc?si=viSy… via @YouTube In March 1965 T-Bone Walker made an unlikely guest appearance on "Not Only But Also" with Peter Cook, Dudley Moore and Peter Sellers. T-Bone clearly had no idea what the hell was going on. Check out his 1949 #Gibson ES-5 guitar though

People who say "I think The Beatles/The Godfather/Sopranos etc is over rated" have to be weak in the head. Attention seeking dopes said that about them at the time too but now the jury is IN. So shut up now eh? How about Beethoven? Or Picasso? Shakespeare?

In January 1969 this is what one old geezer had to say about the Beatles. It’s hard to disagree.

#EltonJohn in Soho Square 1970. Note his python skin boots. Very popular at the time. The Art Deco building behind is Nascerno House at 27 Soho Square. It housed independent film distribution companies, preview theatres etc. Demolished in the 80s. Photo Barrie Wentzell

The HMV Shop in Oxford Street in the 60s. A Morris Minor drives by. Interesting to see the shop opening hours. They closed at 1pm Saturday and didn't open at all on Sunday. Ah, those halcyon pre-tourist days.

50 years ago on this very day, I took a young lady on a first date. It was a Wings concert at the Empire Pool, Wembley. Yes, we're still together. #PaulMcCartney

30,000 at Hillsborough today to see #SWFC beat Wimbledon 5-0. Must be some kind of League One attendance record. At least since one of the #Sheffield clubs drew a similar crowd.

Before AI makes up some imaginary picture, THESE are the two LPs Mick Jagger was carrying on that fateful day in 1961 when he reconnected with Keith
This day in 1961, 17 year old Keith Richards met 18 year old Mick Jagger on his way to the London School of Economics carrying some records. On platform two of Dartford railway station. Their paths would thankfully cross again #RollingStones #History
