I respect all the people involved here, but the decision to have Oxbridge private school nepo babies at the helm of what was formerly a trade union linked, left-socialist magazine is deeply disappointing. Where are the working class writers?
Exciting times at Tribune Oliver Eagleton, one of finest writers and thinkers of his generation, is new editor The incredible Barnaby Raine at his side makes this a truly dangerous team Very happy to be joining as a regular contributor, too Launch: eventbrite.co.uk/e/tribune-s…

Reform UK is surging due to being all over TikTok and other social media, whilst Labour MPs are out here writing strongly worded letters full of political jargon to get posted by a BBC journalist (who then only posts the first page without seeing the signatories) 🤡🤡🤡.
The Red Wall group of @uklabour MPs - coordinated by @jowhite_ have been working on sharpening the response to Reform UK. This letter to ⁦@Nigel_Farage⁩ is part of that - looking for clear blue water on employment rights, which appear popular amongst target voters

Deranged penny pinching on public realm stuff is gonna really hurt the government
It is a horrific dereliction of duty from a Labour government — whose first ever MP in Southport has lots of creative ideas about how to fix this — not to find this money after all the town has been through. It’s £13 million guys. You can afford it. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cyve…

This is the best illustration of the obscene wealth of Elon Musk that I’ve seen. Look how much rice he’s got! We don’t have to organise our world like this.

Condemnation is no longer good enough. Anything short of full sanctions has become complicity.
I condemn Minister Smotrich’s comments proposing annexation of land in the West Bank. Annexation only undermines the prospects for peace, would lead to greater instability and would be illegal under international law. The Israeli government must reject this.

NEW: ‘A Cartography of Genocide’. Since October 2023, we have collected and analysed data related to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. Our findings indicate that Israel has systematically targeted all aspects of civilian life. tinyurl.com/bdcrnzka

For goodness sake. Despite big tax rises overall chancellor has done it again. Fuel duty frozen and "temporary" 5p cut kept. This government is supposed to care about climate change. And I'm willing to bet fiscal numbers assume increases into the future. How much longer?

It’s clear that Netanyahu’s besiegement of Gaza is also happening to Lebanon. He is openly saying so. The international community should end arms sales immediately and do more than just talk about a ceasefire and actually broker it. bbc.com/news/articles/cly3x1…

It was great to hear that the @NewStatesman panel event on school food at Labour Party Conference last week was such a success. Better school food & free school meals are an investment in our future working generation and the case for this life-changing investment is irrefutable.

Imagine there was a nationwide pogrom against British Jews which lasted for days. Imagine the government then refused to speak to, let alone meet with, the Board of Jewish Deputies. This is what the government has just done to Britain’s main Muslim organisation.

We really need to heed the mantra Guyanese Revolutionary Andaiye lived by - ‘the point is to change the world’. Not to have the ‘correct’ position at any moment, but to implement revolutionary socialism in a messy world, which - in that process - won’t always look revolutionary.

Imagine being such a 'high quality candidate' in the year 2024, being elected as a Member of Parliament, and not bothering to go through your old tweets to check if you called people "Estonian Retards".

Everybody is dunking on this but ngl I do think a poster saying words to the effect of 'Get Zionists out of Finchley' is bad, actually.
Concerned residents have shared posts with my office relating to so called “anti-fascist” groups in Finchley which are clearly antisemitic. I will not amplify or platform those voices. Instead I have reported them to the police and CST. I advise others to do the same. 1/2

Although obviously, I don't agree with reporting it to the police.
