Not eventually Senator......now.......
“we will pay any price….to assure the success and survival of liberty.” Is this still true? Do we prize liberty or do we prize power and purse? No more clear test than the choice between Ukraine and Russia. Abandon Ukraine and we abandon liberty. Eventually even our own.

Last September, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick met Kazakhstan's president at the St. Regis in New York, with Trump joining by phone, to secure US access to one of the world's largest untapped tungsten reserves, a metal the Pentagon needs for missile warheads and fighter jets. Weeks later, a firm called Dominari Securities, based at Trump Tower and partly owned by Don Jr. and Eric, quietly took a 20 percent stake in the project, an investment not disclosed at the time. The federal government then approved up to $1.6 billion in financing for the company running the mine. Cantor Fitzgerald, run by Lutnick's own sons, separately raised $210 million for a related entity in the deal, fees included. The Times found the two families have financial ties to at least 14 mining companies now seeking or receiving federal support worth a combined $8.9 billion. Applebaum's reporting treats this as one example among dozens. It reads like the pattern, not the exception.

Benghazi cost four American lives at a single compound, and Congress gave it ten investigations and two years of televised fury. Beirut in 1983 produced a commission within weeks, and Pearl Harbor had its inquiry inside eleven days. That is how a serious country treats a military disaster. This week the Pentagon's own inspector general confirmed that Iran has damaged or destroyed hundreds of buildings at American bases in eight countries, along with dozens of aircraft. Neither Vietnam, Iraq nor Afghanistan ever saw the American footprint across a whole region hammered at once, and the public only learned of it because soldiers leaked photographs while Hegseth shrugged about the occasional "squirter." General Caine warned before the first bomb fell that stockpiles and defences were not ready. Hegseth, a former television host, has since fired or blocked more than eighty generals and admirals, so the war is being run with the adults removed from the building. When a Republican congressman filed eight articles of impeachment this week, the Speaker sent the House home early rather than allow a vote. zerohedge.com/geopolitical/u…
