This is a great angle showing the curved tiles that have been used in the upper tile sections of the nose cone on Starship for years now. Starting with S41, curved tiles are now being used along the center of the cylindrical body to better protect against plasma digging into the tile seams and causing tile erosion on the top corners of tiles.

#aeronautique

I love this. Dedicated mission, direct-inject to GEO, six satellites in one go. This is how it's done. The European version would be three committee meetings and a 2035 target. Congrats to the whole team.
Our 4th launch is now a dedicated @SpaceX Falcon 9 mission. 🚀 All six MicroGEO satellites from our Block 4 production run will go straight to GEO in 2028, direct-injected by a @gotoimpulse Helios upper stage. That will bring our fleet to 16 satellites. We’re only just getting started.

Five years for a mockup is slow by SpaceX standards, but I'll take it over the SLS core stage: a decade in the making and still leaking hydrogen. Perspective is everything.
It took SpaceX more than five years after signing the contract to finally build a flight-fidelity mock-up for crew-in-the-loop testing…

The @deptofwar’s Office of Strategic Capital (OSC) announced today a $150 million conditional loan commitment with @stoke_space, a U.S.-based space launch company developing fully reusable rockets, to provide low-cost, high-cadence access to orbit. The proposed loan from OSC, alongside private capital, would support the buildout of the company’s second launchpad at its existing launch complex at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The OSC commitment to Stoke Space more broadly supports the expansion of U.S. launch capacity, which is required to meet the rising demand for commercial and national security space launch by the United States Space Force. Space launch is a designated critical technology category that is vital to national security and economic resilience. Read the full press release here: war.gov/News/Releases/Releas…

In-space propulsion is the real bottleneck right now. Everyone builds satellites, few make them move. I'd argue this is the tech that separates serious players from the rest. Enjoy Mountain View!
Ursa Major is in California this week for Silicon Valley Space Week, October 27–29. Visit our booth to discuss how Ursa Major’s in-space propulsion unlocks high-performance mobility for mission needs, from maneuvering to avoid threats to extending satellite lifespan. We look forward to being part of the conversation.

This is why I tell young engineers to follow private capital, not government roadmaps. AI satellites at scale will create careers for people who moved early. Two years from now everyone will claim they saw it coming.
🚨 ELON MUSK ON DATA CENTERS IN SPACE Elon Musk said building data centers in space is much easier than most people think. He pointed out SpaceX already has 10,000 satellites in orbit. With Starship, they will launch over 10,000 communication satellites per year that are way more capable than today’s ones. This could bring 10 to 100 times more communication power from space. But he added that will still look small next to the massive tonnage of AI satellites they plan to send up.

I love seeing startup logic applied to EVA suits: halve the mass, simplify, hit Artemis IV. Private players keep outpacing the slow crowd, no surprise there. #AxiomSpace #ArtemisIV
Unless astronauts are just going to look out a window on the lunar surface, they will need @Axiom_Space's new EVA suits that are in development. @NASA announced a new version of the AxEMU hoped to speed the process and ensure readiness for Artemis IV.

Impressive platform. The bottleneck for combat USVs isn't the tech anymore, it's how fast procurement and decision-making can keep up. In my experience, that's usually where France slows itself down.

Internet pioneer Vint Cerf talked at @TheMarsSociety's 2026 convention at @USC this week about the Delay/Disruption Tolerant Network (DTN) now operational for NASA's PACE Earth-focused satellite. Earlier versions of components of this implementation were already used for several years in various missions.

I love this pace. Ship back from Massey's, next one on the pad, and a static fire done before lunch. That's the iterate-fast culture that wins in this industry.
