I am speechless. Thomas Aquinas College just dropped a study on the rigor of the new SAT.
It compares the 1980/87 test with 2026. The findings should terrify every parent and teacher...
Vocabulary has collapsed.
Old SAT: 70.6% of questions tested vocab.
New SAT: 15%.
The old test forced students to know a wide range of words through analogies, antonyms, and sentence completions. The new test abandoned that. Most vocab questions now just ask students to fill in one blank from context.
Reading passages also got radically shorter (average ~97 words vs 300–340).
The new test uses short expository passages and hands you the necessary background knowledge inside the text. The older tests leaned much more heavily on argumentative and persuasive writing, assumed far more historical, scientific, and cultural knowledge, and penalized students who lacked it.
This is a redefinition of what "college readiness" means.
If you believe that kids should develop rigorous vocabulary, be capable of sustained reading, and possess background knowledge, I have bad news for you. The SAT no longer measures these.
If you want a future where children can actually read difficult texts and construct complex arguments, the SAT must be replaced now.
This cannot go on.
We were concerned that the SAT has become a less reliable measure of student preparedness for a rigorous college curriculum.
So, we commissioned a study from Johns Hopkins University. What does this study tell us about the state of higher education?
The results are shocking. thaq.co/4iLThZ0

"The most diverse cabinet in history…"
88% Black. Virginia is 20% black.
0% White men. Virginia is 30% White men.
Friendly reminder when these people say "diversity", they just mean anti-White.
I’m proud to have the most talented, hardest-working cabinet in Virginia’s history. They are also the most diverse cabinet Virginia has ever seen.
Every single one of our cabinet secretaries were selected because they’re the best of the best in their respective fields. They also bring invaluable perspectives from across the Commonwealth — from Danville, Hampton Roads, Richmond, NOVA, and more.
I’m grateful to get to work with these incredibly dedicated, hard-working, and talented cabinet officials to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia.

We've identified & fixed an issue impacting our international platform, Polymarket.com. One of our 3rd party providers was compromised, and we have referred this to relevant law enforcement.
Anyone who has been impacted will be made whole.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily halted trading & are working to bring the platform back online.

Cutting Parks Canada’s Search and Rescue dog program in Banff is a dangerous decision. These dogs locate missing hikers, track through severe weather, and bring answers to families. Sacrificing visitor safety to save costs will cost lives. Reverse this decision! #SaveTheSAR #Banff #ParksCanada
Meet Leroy. A specially trained Search and Rescue dog in Banff.
He tracked 156 individuals, found 57 people lost in the wilderness, trekked 22 kilometers for nine straight grueling hours to rescue a 73-year-old woman missing in a snowstorm, located avalanche victims and recovered countless bodies, bringing closure to grieving families.
Parks Canada has served notice that the SAR dog program is ending.
Banff is already under the microscope for Emergency Preparedness. But this?
Thank the Liberals $145 MILLION cut to funding.
Carnage's cost saving measures WILL COST LIVES.

So many, many pundits shrugged off the Venezuelan story and yet here we are today….
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦Canadian Oil Discount Exceeds $30 Amid Gulf Coast Pressures
Western Canadian Select’s discount to the monthly average of West Texas Intermediate has widened to $31 a barrel, the largest gap since October 2022. On the US Gulf Coast the differential reached $23.50, the widest in data going back to 2018.
The pressure stems from a supply build-up of competing Venezuelan heavy crude on the Gulf Coast and elevated tanker rates that make re-exporting Canadian barrels to Asia prohibitively expensive. The Baltic Dirty Tanker Index remains elevated after hitting a record earlier in the month, with shipping costs to Asia now in the $30–40 per barrel range.
While global benchmarks have rallied on the Iran conflict—with Brent near $115—Canadian heavy crude has largely traded below $70 since June.
