15 in the 8th grade was common, she’s 30 something so she was in school when kids got held back. You turn 15 in the 9th grade so being held back 1 year isn’t crazy
The biggest participants of consumerism & capitalism is women and the world knows this. Pink tax is a thing because if women like it they will get it and women love experiences and will pay for it

Out of curiosity, do men get groom markups when planning their weddings? Do they experience any kind of wedding tax, or is it just brides suffering??😭
I think it’s because people have witnessed the social media domino effect.
-New dating requirement announced & now it’s supposed to be a part of the bare minimum
-Monetary gestures are becoming the entry barrier to dating instead of genuine interest and attention

Anytime a woman gets on here talking about something that might cost money, ppl get in a tizzy as if they’re the ones shelling out the funds.
No brainer. I usually grab a couple of the after school snacks for myself and if my kids ask me I always give them to them. You never know when their next meal might be so I never decline a child and opportunity to eat
The same way people are stuck in the patriarchal mindset, people are also stuck in the capitalist mindset

Wait, let me make sure I've got this right. NYC Mayor Mamdani taxed wealthy people on second homes they don't live in, the city's budget got balanced, the rich are still rich, and ordinary New Yorkers didn't get hit with a broad tax increase? That's really all it took?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
NYC FY2027 budget balance used agency savings, $4B+ state aid/authorizations (incl. pension restructuring saving $1.64B), and $500M projected from pied-à-terre tax on luxury second homes—not primarily that tax.

She wasn’t assaulted because she’s Jewish, she was assaulted because she turned to a bystander and said ‘doesn’t she dress like she’d be raped in Iran’.
Whether you believe in fighting words or not, this was objectively not the hate crime you’re making it out to be.
A Jewish woman, @basedinmalibu, was violently assaulted earlier today by Temulun Togochog, a Mongolian immigrant.
Togochog was promptly taken into custody by @umichdpss.
Togochog is a May 2026 graduate of Mercer County Community College in New Jersey and is now attending @UMich for global ethnic studies.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Temulun Togochog is a US-born American citizen of Mongolian descent, not a Mongolian immigrant. She was born in the United States to parents living in exile from Southern Mongolia.

We got your back, New York!

Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026).
